Frosted Fire Autumn Stonecrop (Sedum x 'Frosted Fire')

Frosted Fire Autumn Stonecrop gives you a bright, variegated look that keeps sunny beds looking crisp from spring through fall. Its tidy mound of light green foliage edged in creamy yellow adds contrast that works with almost any color palette. As late summer arrives, tight clusters of pink flowers bring a strong seasonal finish and welcome pollinators into the garden. With good drainage, it is an easy, low-input perennial that handles heat and short dry spells once established.

Distinctive Features

This clump-forming stonecrop stands out for its clean variegation, with lush green leaves edged in pale yellow that stay attractive long before bloom. In late summer into early fall, dense pink flower clusters rise above the foliage, adding color and texture when many perennials are winding down. The habit remains compact and well-structured, making it a dependable choice for borders and mixed plantings that need a polished look. Spent flower heads can be left in place for extended seasonal texture.

Growing Conditions

  • Sun: Full sun is best for compact growth and strong flowering, with light shade tolerated.
  • Soil: Plant in well-drained soil and avoid consistently wet or heavy conditions.
  • Water: Water to establish, then provide dry to medium moisture, allowing soil to dry between waterings.
  • USDA Zones: Hardy in USDA Zones 3 to 8.
  • Mature Size: Typically grows 12 to 15 inches tall and spreads 15 to 18 inches wide.

Ideal Uses

  • Focal Point: Use a small grouping as a late-season focal point where the variegated foliage and pink blooms can brighten a sunny bed.
  • Borders: Plant in sunny borders to add crisp variegation and a reliable late-season flower finish.
  • Mass Planting: Plant in drifts for a clean, repeating pattern of light foliage color and fall bloom.
  • Containers: Grow in well-drained containers as a filler that adds foliage contrast and late-season color.
  • Mixed Perennial Beds: Combine with ornamental grasses and late bloomers to extend interest into fall.

Low Maintenance Care

  • Pruning: Leave flower heads for fall and winter texture, then cut back in late winter to early spring before new growth starts.
  • Fertilizing: Avoid heavy feeding, because lean soils help keep growth compact and stems sturdy.
  • Watering: Once established, water only during extended drought to maintain vigor and bloom quality.
  • Mulching: Use a light mulch or gravel top-dress and keep the crown from staying wet to reduce rot risk.
  • Dividing: Divide every few years in spring if you want to refresh vigor and maintain a tight clump.

Why Choose Frosted Fire Autumn Stonecrop?

  • Bright Variegation: Green leaves with creamy yellow edges add clean contrast from spring through fall.
  • Late-Season Bloom: Pink flower clusters extend color from late summer into early fall.
  • Tidy Habit: Compact, clump-forming growth stays neat and easy to place in mixed plantings.
  • Waterwise Performance: Succulent foliage handles heat and short dry spells once established in well-drained soil.
  • Pollinator Value: Flowers attract bees and butterflies during a valuable end-of-season window.

Frosted Fire Autumn Stonecrop is a simple way to add bright foliage contrast and dependable late-season color to sunny, well-drained landscapes. Pair it with ornamental grasses, purple-leaved companions, or other fall bloomers to build a long-lasting finish. With sun and drainage, it stays compact, colorful, and reliable year after year.

Angels and the Fallen — Breathtaking Start
Format: Kindle
This book was EVERYTHING I expected it to be and more. Leave to R.L. Caulder and M. Sinclair to give us yet another amazing book! Kieran and her guys hooked me from the very beginning and did not let go. Found family is one of my favorite tropes and it was done so well in this book. Couple that along with an FMC trying to find her place in the world and I was practically drooling over this book. The world building, the conflict, the wyverin sidekick — it all was done so well that it felt fresh and real. Each love interest felt real and unique in their own ways. I felt connected to each one and like they were truly different people. I love that so much in a book and these two authors never miss with their love interests. Multi POV, Reverse harem, who did this to you, and a magical world highlighting the angels and the fallen. This book has everything and it does it so well. Big thank you to R.L. Caulder and M. Sinclair for the arc copy! I cannot wait for book 2!

A new take 🤔
Format: Kindle
I’m not going to go into what this book is about — by now you e already read the synopsis and have an idea — but I will give a couple of insights. Definitely a different take on angels and their fall; I like it. This is an interesting start to a new series - YES, this does end on a cliffhanger so be prepared for that. I’m eager for the next book (and hopefully the last in this series — sometimes the author(s) will switch it up depending on how the story flows for them) in this series. I’m hoping that a certain male character redeems himself because he’s a dick that will make the meaning of mixed signals jealous lol. You ever watch that old movie — I think it’s call Mommy Dearest? — yea, let’s switch that up to daddy. That man would make a perfect husband to mommy dearest. I recommend this book because while these authors are well known for their cliffhangers, they are also well known for putting out good stories.

Liked it
Format: Kindle
I liked the worlds and the characters. The prophesy is confusing in that I would think, since all worlds ore on a path to destruction, the angels would want their world to be saved. I am sure there is more evil that will be revealed as the series proceeds. I dislike a prolonged “poor little me” trope and the main character has moved past that, thankfully, and began to show a fierce attitude as the novel progressed. The last portion of the novel had some great action. It’s worth reading, just be patient with a slow start.

Monstrously Sweet
Format: Kindle
This book packs an emotional punch, especially if you’ve experienced childhood trauma (particularly abuse and/or neglect). Alexandra creates these three strong protectors who love her and will do anything to make her feel happy and safe. She started out drawing them when she was a small child, and then transitioned to stories as she grew up. Lucien, Elwin, and Kylo look frightening in their monster forms, but it’s clear that they would never hurt Alexandra, and she has never felt afraid of them. They have very distinct personalities that we get to know better throughout the book. The love and devotion they have for Alexandra is sweet and unwavering. This is a fantastic and creative story! The world-building is wonderful - it’s a shared world with M. Sinclair, and takes place at a university for supernatural beings. The additional world-building within Alexandra’s story added even more depth and intrigue. The spicy times were 🥵 and it’s more of a medium burn, but it works with the characters and I expect that it’ll pick up quite a bit in the next books. Monsters Within has a unique way of addressing mental health issues that can come from being abused and neglected. There are some flashbacks to Alexandra’s childhood that provide some insight but they don’t go into heavy details. I absolutely adored this book and can’t wait for more!

One of us
Format: Kindle
Alexandra is literally one of us. She's just lucky her fictional men became a reality hahaha. This was a good start to what I know is going to be a great series. This was fast paced and kept me entertained. Im ready for the chaos to slow down a little bit so we can get more into the character development. There's so much happening, I feel like we hardly know anything about anyone BUT that's why this is a series so let's get to the next one!
