Pre-emergent herbicide, when applied at the right times of year, will control weed populations before you see them. They do this by inhibiting seeds from forming roots, thus killing them as they germinate.

Eradicating weeds when they germinate is the most efficient way to control weed populations is lawns, flower beds, and even gravel driveways and walkways. It’s time-efficient and cost-effective, saving you months of combating weeds by mowing, weed whacking, hand pulling, digging, and from using costlier products to spray out weeds.

  • 50 lb. bag covers up to 8,000 sq. ft.
  • Contains 16-4-8 + Iron plus Barricade pre-emergent herbicide
  • This pre-emergent contains a high amount of Nitrogen, so review the "when not to apply" exceptions below for your type of lawn.

Apply only at the recommended rate.

Use our yellow walk-behind spreader to distribute this granular product.

When to apply pre-emergent herbicide:

  • Apply 16-4-8 with Barricade to established Tall Fescue lawns in late winter and early spring to feed and prevent weeds. If you've already fertilized your Tall Fescue with nitrogen, then choose 0-0-7 with pre-emergent because it doesn't contain nitrogen.
  • Apply 16-4-8 with Barricade to established Bermuda and Zoysia lawns in spring during "green up" to feed and prevent weeds, usually from mid to late April.
  • Apply in the morning before temperatures rise above 80 degrees; do not apply during the heat of the day.
  • Apply it after one full growing season when your lawn in fully rooted in and you can no longer pull up areas of the sod, after you’ve mowed it at least three times, and after you can no longer see the seams.

When NOT to apply pre-emergent herbicide:

  • When seeding new lawns: Do not apply this product or any pre-emergent herbicide if you're planning on reseeding your lawn because it will inhibit germination of that seed too. If you have applied pre-emergent, wait 3-4 months before planting seeds, depending on climate conditions.
  • When laying new sod: Do not apply pre-emergent when laying sod because it will inhibit root formation if applied too soon. Likewise, do not apply pre-emergent before laying new sod - if you have applied pre-emergent, wait 3-4 months (depending on climate conditions) before laying new sod.
  • Don't apply 16-4-8 with Barricade to Tall Fescue in late spring or summer; apply it only during cool months; due to high Nitrogen, don't apply to Tall Fescue during warm months.
  • Do not apply to Centipede due to the high nitrogen; choose 0-0-7 with pre-emergent instead
  • Don't apply 16-4-8 with Barricade to warm-season lawns like Bermuda, Zoysia, and St. Augustine in fall when going dormant or in winter or spring before green up; due to high Nitrogen apply it only when these lawns are actively growing in late spring. Instead, apply 0-0-7 with pre-emergent in fall and winter.
  • Don't apply too soon: If you laid warm season sod in autumn, chances are it will need one full growing season (summer) to root in and fill in the seams, thus skipping the winter and spring applications. If you laid sod in the autumn, here is a general application timetable:
    • Zoysia - Safe to apply after Zoysia sod is 12 months old
    • St. Augustine Safe to apply after St. Augustine sod is 12 months old
    • Centipede - Due to high nitrogen, not safe for Centipede at all
    • Bermuda - Safe to apply after *Bermuda sod is 6 months old
    • Tall Fescue - Safe to apply after Tall Fescue is 4 months old

*TifTuf Bermudagrass is the quickest sod to establish and beats expectations for filling in the seams. If you lay the TifTuf Bermudagrass variety late summer and it’s fully rooted in and no seams are visible, it’s safe to apply the winter application of pre-emergent herbicide.

Impossible to keep clean
Color: White, Size: Queen, Color: White, Size: Queen
Great blanket. How TF are you supposed to keep it clean? They provide garment bag, but my zipper broke before I could even use it. I had one of these before and my ex lost the bag, so I had no idea it even came with one. These rip and get burned in the dryer. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY

Obsessed With This Ultra Soft, Fluffy, Cozy Blanket
Color: 02 Crystal Pink, Size: Twin (60" x 80"), Color: 02 Crystal Pink, Size: Twin (60" x 80")
I absolutely love this blanket. I ordered the crystal pink color in the 60x80 size to use as a throw blanket for my new cloud couch in my office, and honestly it ended up being exactly what I was hoping for. The material is incredibly soft, fluffy, and comfortable without feeling thin or cheaply made. I’ve actually been searching for another blanket similar to one I previously owned that eventually got a hole in it, and this one gave me that same cozy feeling immediately. It’s one of those blankets you instantly want to curl up in the second you touch it. One thing I really liked is that the bubble texture actually has dimension and volume to it. A lot of blankets advertised with this kind of design end up looking flat in person, but this one genuinely has that plush “bubble” effect and makes the blanket feel extra cozy and luxurious. The size is also great. It’s large enough to comfortably use on a couch while still being big enough for a twin bed if you wanted to use it that way. For me personally, it’s the perfect oversized throw blanket size. I honestly have nothing negative to say about it. The quality feels great, the stitching looks well done, the color is beautiful, and overall it feels thoughtfully made rather than cheaply mass produced. For around $25, I absolutely think it’s worth it. This has easily become one of my favorite cozy blankets in the house.

Mediocre and lacks required fabric content label
Color: 01 Off White, Size: Twin (60" x 80"), Color: 01 Off White, Size: Twin (60" x 80")
I am a "blanket person," meaning I love to be cozy, curled up on the couch, watching movies with my family, and using many different layers and types of blankets on my bed for different seasons. I was excited to order this 3D bubble fleece blanket by Lotus Karen because I have another 3D bubble fleece throw blanket that I absolutely love. The other one has a sherpa lining, which makes it a bit too warm for warmer seasons. This one by Lotus Karen is unlined, which I expected as the listing doesn't say it is lined. However, I'm feeling let down over the softness of the fleece compared to my other one. They all look similar in list photos, but they do not feel the same. After I unfurled this one onto my bed to let it fluff up, which it did after 90-minutes, but instead of the pile feeling plush and silky (like faux rabbit) this one feels more rough. It's not as high quality fleece, even though it looks the same in photos. Undeterred, I still really wanted to like this blanket and went to put it into the laundry, hoping it would bring out the best in it. However, I noticed that there is no fabric content label at all. Not just missing care instructions, but no label of any kind. Under the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Textile Products Identification Act, it is a violation of United States federal law to sell a textile product that fails to plainly disclose its constituent fiber percentages, country of origin, and registered manufacturer identity physically attached to the product. Having the information on the online listing does not meet this requirement. Because the material is somewhat mediocre, I would have given it three stars. But because it fails to meet basic consumer protection laws, it loses all.

VERY SOFT; MY DOG’S ALREADY APPROPRIATED IT
Color: 01 Off White, Size: Twin (60" x 80")
You know a blanket’s soft when my dog immediately tries to appropriate it. This is incredibly soft, and actually pretty light; it makes for a good spring or summer blanket, or a throw in addition to something else in colder weather. (The twin is big enough that you can double it up over yourself to make it thicker in colder months.) I’m not sure while it’s called a “bubble” blanket - there is a very gentle egg crate shape to it, but it’s not rigid at all, and not dual-layer or filled with air or anything. It’s a very comfy throw (my dog can also attest to that) and for ~$20 (at the time of this review), it’s a great deal. I haven’t noticed any shedding, either, but I’m going to wash it on as gentle a cycle I can, to be safe.
