Philodendron Silver Sword is a beautiful and distinctive Philodendron variety appreciated for its unique foliage. The leaves are arrow-shaped and typically have a silver-gray to metallic sheen. The foliage is often deeply lobed, creating an attractive and ornamental appearance. Philodendron Silver Sword typically has an upright growth habit, and as it matures, it may develop a bushy and full appearance.
CARE:
Light: Provide bright, indirect light. While it can tolerate lower light conditions, a well-lit spot will encourage healthier growth and maintain its attractive foliage.
Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Allow the top inch of soil to dry out before watering. Ensure proper drainage to prevent overwatering.
Humidity: Philodendrons, in general, appreciate higher humidity levels. If the air is dry, consider using a humidifier or placing the plant on a humidity tray.
Temperature: Maintain a warm environment with temperatures between 65-75°F (18-24°C). Protect the plant from drafts and sudden temperature changes.
Soil: Use a well-draining, peat-based potting mix. Philodendrons prefer soil that retains some moisture but allows excess water to drain.
Fertilization: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce or stop fertilizing in the fall and winter.
Pruning: Trim yellow or damaged leaves as needed. Pruning can also help shape the plant and promote bushier growth.
