Despite its wild form, the chair's foam encased steel frame is sturdy and surprisingly comfortable and provides endless opportunities for use: Face forward, backwards, or to the side.

This is a vintage Ekstrem chair, produced around 1984, when Ekstrøm found a furniture maker to bring his designs to market.
The chair is in very good vintage condition for its age. No rips or tears in the upholstery. Where the two sides of the chair's frame meet, there is some separation of the fabric — a common occurrence in vintage Ekstrem chairs.
