4 inch monstera Monstera deliciosa 4 inchNative to the rainforests of Central America, the big, bold Monstera deliciosa plant is also known as a split leaf philodendron or Swiss Cheese plant. They are famous for their natural leaf holes. The Monstera's leaf holes are called fenestrations and are theorized to maximize sun fleck capture on the forest floor by increasing the spread of the leaf while decreasing the mass of leaf cells to support. I find them easy to grow, hardy, very beautiful

Native to the rainforests of Central America, the big, bold Monstera deliciosa plant is also known as a split-leaf philodendron or Swiss Cheese plant. They are famous for their natural leaf-holes. The Monstera's leaf-holes are called fenestrations and are theorized to maximize sun fleck capture on the forest floor by increasing the spread of the leaf while decreasing the mass of leaf cells to support. I find them easy to grow, hardy, very beautiful and a staple plant for plant lovers.

LIGHT
Thrives in bright to medium indirect light. Not suited for intense, direct sun but can be acclimated to withstand it.

WATER
Water every 1-2 weeks, allowing soil to dry out between waterings. Expect to water more often in brighter light and less often in lower light. Pro tip: Monsteras can benefit from filtered water or water left out overnight before using.

HUMIDITY
Normal room humidity will do, but prefers humid conditions if possible. Consider incorporating a fine-mist mister or humidifier to boost humidity level indoors. Wipe leaves with a damp cloth when needed.

Not worth the paper it’s printed on.
Format: Paperback
I can’t say that I was expecting such a slim volume on 10,000 years of Chinese culture to be a work of rigorous scholarship, but I also wasn’t expecting it to be quite *this* dreadful. It is badly written to the point of being unreadable, and it is clear that no one thought to edit the document before publication. I made it about twenty pages in before I had to put it down. The entire thing reads like an Anthropology 101 term paper written by a first semester college freshman who hasn’t quite figured out how to back up claims with evidence yet.

It all makes sense now
Format: Kindle
This book covers Ancient Chinese History, Starting from the Settlement at the Yellow River through the Xia, Shang, Zhou, and Qin Dynasties to the Han Dynasty. This should ring a bell for some folks as this is the period around the Yellow River shows the early development of man in this region. Ancient Chinese history is a tapestry of remarkable achievements, cultural developments, and political transitions that unfolded over thousands of years. It all began with the settlement at the Yellow River, where early agricultural communities emerged around 5000 BCE. This period witnessed the gradual transition from a hunter-gatherer lifestyle to settled farming communities, marking the foundation of Chinese civilization. From this fertile ground, the Xia Dynasty rose in the 21st century BCE, establishing the first recorded dynasty in Chinese history. Although little written evidence remains, the Xia period laid the groundwork for future dynasties, fostering advancements in agriculture, irrigation systems, and early forms of government. The subsequent Shang Dynasty (16th–11th century BCE) witnessed great cultural achievements, including the development of a complex writing system and the creation of magnificent bronze artworks. It was during this era that the concept of the Mandate of Heaven emerged, which stated that rulers' legitimacy depended on their ability to govern effectively. Following the fall of the Shang Dynasty, the Zhou Dynasty (1046–256 BCE) emerged and introduced the feudal system, characterized by a decentralized government. This era saw the flourishing of philosophy, with notable thinkers like Confucius and Laozi influencing Chinese thought for centuries to come. The Qin Dynasty (221–206 BCE) unified China under the rule of Emperor Qin Shi Huang, bringing about remarkable political and administrative reforms. It standardized currency, measurements, and writing systems, and constructed the Great Wall of China. Although short-lived, the Qin Dynasty paved the way for the subsequent Han Dynasty. The Han Dynasty (206 BCE–220 CE) was a period of significant cultural and technological advancements. It expanded the empire's territorial reach, established the Silk Road, and embraced Confucianism as the official ideology. The Han Dynasty left a lasting legacy, shaping the Chinese state and society for centuries. Through these pivotal dynasties, Ancient Chinese history witnessed the development of a rich and enduring civilization, with contributions that continue to influence the world today.
