Some species in the mix are expected to germinate and bloom during the first growing season, while others may not emerge until the second or third year. Because the mix contains a strong selection of perennial species, including woody perennials, establishment takes time. Large Area Planting Recommendations
- For areas larger than ¼ acre, two ¼-acre mixes are sufficient to drill one acre
- For broadcast applications covering one acre, a minimum of four ¼-acre mixes is recommended
- For plantings larger than one acre, Prairie Legacy can custom blend seed to meet project specifications
