This vintage indoor plant was popular in Victorian times due to its low-light tolerance. Originating from Mexico, this plant was displayed in the best room of the manor, which is where its nickname, the Parlour Palm, comes from.
Parlour Palm care is low-maintenance, making them great for any home. They're child and pet-friendly, air-purifying, and slow-growing to a maximum height of 1m. Keep them in temperatures above 18°C (but they can deal with as low as 10°C), and in bright, indirect sunlight. If their leaves begin to fade or bleach move them out of the sun. They rarely need watering, only when the soil is dry, and they like to be misted occasionally.
Nowadays, most people aren't lucky enough to live in manors, and we no longer have parlours, so we think the best place to keep your Parlour Palm is in the living room or hallway.
