This desert cactus substrate is designed to replicate the mineral, dry, and highly draining conditions characteristic of their natural habitat. It combines pumice of different granulometries, Iwamoto akadama, cactus potting soil, and horticultural charcoal to achieve a stable, aerated, and low-nutrient structure, suitable for roots sensitive to excess moisture.
The complementarity of the components allows for rapid water evacuation while maintaining a slight retention capacity, essential for supporting hydration phases without causing saturation. Horticultural charcoal helps maintain a healthy environment by limiting microbial imbalances, thus promoting robust and sustainable root growth.
Recommended use
- Repotting desert cacti in indoor or greenhouse cultivation
- Growing succulents requiring a very draining substrate
- Improving overly organic or compact mixes
