Philodendron bipennifolium ‘Golden Violin’

Philodendron bipennifolium ‘Golden Violin’ has yellow-green leaves on a climbing stem, with mature blades developing the violin-like outline associated with the species. Young leaves often start simpler, then the blade can narrow through the middle and form stronger lobing with age.

Philodendron bipennifolium is a variable species, and mature leaves may become panduriform, hastate or lobed as the plant develops. In Philodendron ‘Golden Violin’, the yellow-green colour shows on young growth, while the mature blade shape becomes clearer as the plant climbs and ages.

Philodendron ‘Golden Violin’ colour and leaf shape

  • Colour: Bright golden to chartreuse leaves, especially noticeable on fresh and well-grown growth.
  • Leaf shape: Mature blades can develop the violin-like outline associated with Philodendron bipennifolium.
  • Species background: The species is native from southern Venezuela to northern and eastern Brazil, with Suriname included in its documented range.
  • Growth habit: A climbing Philodendron from the wet tropical biome.

Philodendron ‘Golden Violin’ mature leaf development

Philodendron bipennifolium was published by Schott in 1855. Mature leaves can narrow through the centre before widening again near the upper section, creating the violin-like shape seen in well-developed plants.

A young Philodendron ‘Golden Violin’ may not show the full violin outline immediately. As the plant matures, a climbing stem can produce larger blades with a clearer waist, more pronounced lobing and a stronger contrast between juvenile and adult leaves.

Philodendron ‘Golden Violin’ climbing and leaf care

  • Support: Add a pole or plank before the vine becomes long. A climbing surface helps mature leaf shape develop more clearly.
  • Light: Bright filtered light supports compact growth and helps the plant build enough energy for larger mature leaves. Avoid harsh sun that can bleach or scorch tender leaves.
  • Temperature: Keep above 18°C for steady growth. Cool, wet conditions slow roots and can trigger yellowing.
  • Watering: Water once the upper 25–35% of the pot is dry. The plant dislikes stale moisture around the stem base.
  • Humidity: Moderate to higher humidity supports smoother unfurling, especially while new lobed leaves are expanding.
  • Substrate: Use a barky, open mix with mineral drainage so the root zone dries evenly after watering.
  • Repotting: Move up one pot size when roots fill the container, the mix dries very quickly, or the stem needs a heavier base for support.
  • Feeding: Feed lightly during active growth; steady low-dose nutrition is safer than heavy, irregular feeding.
  • Propagation: Propagate from stem cuttings with at least one node. Sections with aerial roots usually establish faster.
  • Pruning: Cut above a node to shorten a long vine or remove damaged growth. New shoots can develop from viable nodes.
  • Semi-hydroponics: Suitable for mineral or semi-hydro setups if transitioned gradually, with the crown kept above the reservoir line.

Philodendron ‘Golden Violin’ stem and leaf issues

  • Small, simple leaves: Improve filtered light and climbing support. Less divided leaves often reflect growth conditions rather than a problem with the plant.
  • Brown dry areas: Check for direct sun, dry root episodes, or leaves pressing against hot glass.
  • Long gaps between leaves: Usually linked to low light or a vine left unsupported. Move brighter and train the stem upward.
  • Yellowing after watering: Inspect the mix. Fine soil can stay wet around the lower stem even when the surface looks dry.
  • Pests: Check leaf undersides, petioles and new growth for spider mites, thrips or mealybugs, especially if leaves emerge marked or distorted.

Philodendron ‘Golden Violin’ contains irritating calcium oxalate crystals and should be kept away from pets. Sap may irritate sensitive skin during pruning or propagation.

Philodendron ‘Golden Violin’ etymology and description history

The genus name Philodendron comes from Greek roots meaning “tree-loving”. The species epithet bipennifolium refers to the divided leaf shape, and Philodendron bipennifolium was described by Schott in Oesterreichisches Botanisches Wochenblatt in 1855.

perfect fit for the L40 Ultra
Color: L40 Ultra Accessories
I'm very pleased with this accessories kit. All the included items work perfectly with the L40, and are good quality, fit correctly, and cause zero issues. They install just as the OEM items do, and the L40 works exactly the way it did when it came out of the box. I was particularly pleased that even though it's a replacement, it came with another little screwdriver, as I'd misplaced the original. These hepa filters fit snugly, stay in place, and work to take up dust and trap it rather than just spread it around the house. The mop pads appear to be good quality and get the job done. I like how they attach - easy to put on and take off, just like the OEM, so I can clean them easily and use them for a little longer. The main brush is so close to identical that I can't really tell them apart, and they work as advertised - little wrapping and tangling, and they deal with dog and cat hair without a hitch. In all, this is a good value for replacement components that work and are good quality. Recommended.

These Mop Pads Made My Hardwood Floors Shine Again!
Color: L40 Ultra Mop Pad, Color: L40 Ultra Mop Pad
I picked up this 8‑pack of mop pads for my Dreame X40 Ultra, and they’re exactly what I needed. These attach with Velcro, so swapping them out is as simple as pulling off the old pad and pressing on the new one. No tools, no fuss. My original pads lasted a long time, but nothing beats the feeling of putting on fresh, fluffy mop pads and watching the robot make the floors shine again. These are the same size, same fit, same performance as the originals. 🧹 Compatibility Dreame and MOVA are basically sister companies, so these pads don’t just fit the X40 Ultra — they also work with a ton of other models, including: - L40 Ultra - X40 Ultra - X50 Ultra - L50 Ultra - L10S Ultra - L10S Pro Ultra Heat - L10S Ultra Gen2 - L40S Ultra - X30 Ultra - L10 Ultra - And yes — MOVA models like the E40 Ultra If you’ve got a Dreame or MOVA robot, chances are these pads will fit perfectly. 🪵 Cleaning Performance These pads leave my hardwood floors looking clean and streak‑free. The robot spins them with enough pressure to lift dirt, dust, and whatever the dogs track in. Fresh pads always make a difference, and this pack gives you plenty of backups. 💰 Value Eight pads at this price is a steal. OEM pads cost way more, and these perform just as well. Great fit, great quality, great results. ⭐ Final Thoughts Easy to install, perfect compatibility, and they make my floors look amazing. Couldn’t be happier with the purchase. I’ll definitely keep a pack of these on hand.

Exceptional Value – Identical Quality to OEM Parts!
Color: L40 Ultra Accessories, Color: L40 Ultra Accessories
I recently received this replacement accessories kit for my robot vacuum, and I couldn't be more impressed. To be honest, I was a bit skeptical at first—usually, when you buy third-party bundles, you expect some trade-off in material quality or fit, but that is absolutely not the case here. Packaging & Delivery The kit arrived exactly as described and was packaged very securely. Everything was organized neatly inside the box, ensuring that the side brushes weren't bent and the HEPA filters remained pristine during transit. It’s clear the manufacturer took care to make sure the product arrives in perfect condition. Quality & Performance After comparing these parts side-by-side with the original factory components, I genuinely cannot see any difference in quality. • The Main Brushes: The rubber material feels durable and has the same flexibility as the original, picking up hair and debris without any issues. • The Mop Pads: These are thick, absorbent, and the Velcro backing aligns perfectly with the vacuum’s mop plates. • Filters & Bags: The HEPA filters fit snugly with a proper seal, which is crucial for maintaining suction power, and the dust bags are made of a thick, multi-layer material that feels very reliable. Final Thoughts This set is a fantastic value. Buying these components individually or from the name brand would easily cost double or triple the price. You get a massive supply of consumables that will likely last me over a year. If you are looking for a way to maintain your vacuum’s peak performance without overspending on "official" replacements, this is the kit to get. Everything snaps into place effortlessly and works perfectly. Highly recommended!

Great Vacuum Kit
Color: L40 Ultra Accessories, Color: L40 Ultra Accessories
I'm not sure if I didn't read carefully enough, or if the title/description changed afterward, but I got this for our Dreame X50, which is similar to the X40 but not quite the same. It looks like everything in this kit will work with ours, except the rollers. The rest of it, the bags, the filters, and the brushes, look the same though, and I can confirm that the mop pads work. Overall, it looks like a great set, full of everything you'd need to freshen up the robot that keeps your house fresh.
