This particular variety of bird's nest fern will, when mature, produce large ruffled, wavy leaves that resemble the ruffled skirts worn by some women in Victorian-era England.

Best for These Animals: Small and medium sized reptiles and amphibians; a particular favorite of tree frogs and other arboreal (tree dwelling) animals, when mounted in high humidity environments.

Lighting: Low to medium indirect light.  Placement directly under a heat or basking lamp may result in burnt leaves.

Mature Plant Size & Root System: These easy-to-grow ferns have sturdy fronds that will keep flushing growth from the center, creating a "bird's nest" appearance of foliage.  They can grow up to a foot or two wide, but the size can be managed with selective pruning.  They have very shallow fibrous root systems that allows for a surprising amount of anchorage with this fern.
