Origin & Breeding
The Purple Carolina Reaper is an unofficial color variant of the original Carolina Reaper, developed through independent grower selections to enhance purple pigmentation. While not stabilized, it’s admired for its striking anthocyanin-rich pods and retains some of the extreme heat of its famous red parent.

Germination & Growing

• Start indoors (Nov–Jan) in nursery trays or 5×5×5 cm pots.

• Use light, well-draining seed-starting soil.

• Soil temp: 26–30 °C, Air temp: 22–28 °C, Humidity: >60%.

• Use a humidity dome + heating mat.

• Provide 12–16 hours of light daily.

• Add airflow with a fan after germination.

Flavour Profile & Heat
Sweet, fruity, creeping heat. Around 1,600,000 SHU, similar to the red variety.
