Sometimes confused for the similar species Haworthia Attenuata, Haworthia Fasciata  thrives with infrequent waterings on a soak-and-dry schedule. Let the soil dry out completely before watering and then give it a drink until water flows out of the drainage holes of the pot. For soil, stick with a well-draining mix—cactus or succulent blends with extra perlite or pumice are perfect.
