A dwarf variety that is ideal for Bonsai. Also a medicinal plant, the Moringa extracts might help treat some stomach disorders, such as constipation, gastritis, and ulcerative colitis. The antibiotic and antibacterial properties of moringa may help inhibit the growth of various pathogens, and its high vitamin B content helps with digestion. Moringa has also been shown to cure both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes is one where the patients suffer from non-production of insulin, which is a hormone that maintains the blood glucose level at the required normal value.

Growing Instructions

Moringa trees grow best in temperatures between 77 to 86 degrees F. (25-30 C.) and will tolerate some light frosts. Moringa prefers well-drained sandy or loam soil with a neutral pH level. Though it tolerates clay soil, it cannot be water logged. Plant seeds an inch deep (2.5 cm.). Seeds sprout readily in one or two weeks.
