Peperomia polybotrya

Teardrop is a striking succulent houseplant native to tropical regions of Central and Southern America. It boasts very large, thick, and shiny teardrop-shaped leaves that are almost heart-shaped, set on a thick, fleshy trunk with a compact, elegant growth habit—perfect for a coffee table or desk display. Subtle, non-descript spikes of flowers emerge between the stems, adding a delicate accent to its overall allure.

This tropical beauty thrives in warm, humid conditions and prefers medium, filtered light in a well-draining cactus soil. Water with soft water in the early morning and allow the soil to dry slightly before watering again, as prolonged moisture can lead to root rot and drooping leaves. Propagation is best achieved by placing stem cuttings in sphagnum moss or directly into the soil. Be mindful, as 'Teardrop' is prone to root rot, thrips, and mealybugs, so regular monitoring is essential for keeping it healthy.

Peperomia Basic Care: Easy

  • Water: Allow the soil to dry out almost entirely—up to 5 inches deep—between watering. A watering schedule similar to that of succulents and cacti works well.
  • Light: It prefers medium to bright indirect light. Direct sunlight should be avoided, as it can cause leaf burn.
  • Soil/Drainage: Well-draining soil mixes designed for cacti and succulents are ideal, though they can tolerate a standard houseplant mix if they are careful not to overwater.
  • Temperature/Humidity: Thrives in average room temperature and humidity.

Order & Shipping Info:
-Plants ship in a grower's pot, fully rooted.
-We ship every Monday and Tuesday (excluding holidays) to avoid weekend delays.
-Our photos show what you can expect, but each plant is unique and may look slightly different upon arrival.
-Minor damage during shipping is entirely normal and should be expected, especially in extreme summer or winter temperatures. Don’t worry—damaged foliage can be trimmed away and will not affect the plant's root system or overall health.
-Hold off on watering if the soil is still moist, and wait 2-4 weeks before repotting or fertilizing. This patience will help your plant adjust smoothly without going into shock.

Important:

  • Report any order issues the day they arrive by messaging us on Etsy or emailing [email protected] with a photo. After 24 hours, no refunds, returns, or exchanges—no exceptions.
  • We guarantee plants arrive alive but can’t promise long-term success due to plant nature.
  • Refunds are case-by-case. Many plants recover with proper care, so refunds may not be needed.

Great for dogs that chews a lot up everything
Size: Medium (Pack of 1)
Great for a puppy (large puppy) that chews a lot! So far, this toy is indestructible - and is the first toy she hasn’t chewed into bite size pieces! She loves to play with it all the time.

Great for my Sheprador
Size: Large (Pack of 1)
Dog loves it and it's indestructible. Dog loves chewing on it. The little spot to add treats gives the toy a great life as a distraction while I'm gone. It bounces pretty well too. It's cute but I wish this size had different colors. Black gets lost in my house easily.

Tough!
Size: Large (Pack of 1)
Our dog is a chewer! Fabric toys don’t last - he enjoys ripped them apart. This lasts quite a while. I do watch it because after sometime (month or so), he does get it start separating. He actually got it in half once (looked “interesting” on my floor when we found it and made for a good laugh). We will continue to buy them.

GOOD CHOICE FOR A SUPER CHEWER
Size: Large (Pack of 1), Size: Large (Pack of 1)
Pretty good choice, but for a super power chewer like my 2 year old ROTT, nothing can stand up to her ! This bone usually lasts her about 2-3 weeks, but we only let her have it a few hours a day to keep her busy.
