Over time this sparsely branching perennial forms an upright cane, similar to that of palm species. Flowers are rarely seen in cultivation, however when provided with good growing conditions, the resulting bloom is typical of the Araceae family, that is, enclosed within a fleshy, green-white spathe structure.
