This succulent forms a tight rosette of thick, fleshy triangular leaves that can grow up to 30 cm in diameter and height. The leaves are bright green with dark purplish-brown margins that can turn almost black with changes in temperature and sun-exposure. The plant produces small, thin reddish-pink flowers with yellow tips on long stalks during late winter and early spring.
