Playtime Mix Calendula offers a cheerful blend of colors—buff, cream, bright orange and sunny yellow, bringing playful color and continuous blooms to garden beds, borders, and containers. This vibrant mix of daisy-like flowers stands 16 inches tall and blooms profusely from early summer through fall. Known for its edible petals, skin-soothing properties, and pollinator appeal, Playtime Mix is as functional as it is beautiful. The flowers attract bees and beneficial insects while repelling certain pests, making it a smart companion plant in vegetable gardens. Easy to grow and quick to flower, this mix thrives in a variety of conditions and brings a long season of color and charm.
Perfect for cutting gardens, pollinator plots, and edible landscapes, Playtime Mix can be used fresh in bouquets or dried for long-lasting arrangements. The edible petals add color to salads, teas, and baked goods, while also being a popular ingredient in homemade herbal remedies, lotions, and salves. With its bright, multi-colored blooms, it's also an ideal choice for children's gardens or whimsical planting themes.
Direct sow seeds in early spring or late summer or start indoors 4 to 6 weeks before the last frost. Calendula prefers full sun to partial shade and grows best in well-drained soil. Deadheading encourages continual bloom. Playtime Mix is moderately drought tolerant, cold hardy, and resistant to common pests and diseases. With minimal care, Playtime Mix delivers season-long color, pollinator support, and natural beauty that's as useful as it is delightful.
