The Pollector is an innovative pollen collection sheet designed for effortless and contamination-free pollen harvesting. Developed by PlantScraper, this reusable tool is perfect for collecting Anthurium pollen and other plant pollen with precision. Whether you're a hobbyist or a professional breeder, the Pollector ensures clean and efficient pollen collection, storage, and reuse.

Why Choose the Pollector?

  • Reusable & Durable: Made from high-quality PET (0.3 mm thick) for long-lasting use.
  • Easy & Mess-Free Collection.
  • Ideal for Hybridization & Storage
  • Compact & Lightweight

How to Use the Pollector

  1. Position the Inflorescence: Place the Anthurium inflorescence in the folded sheet, securing the stem between the sides.
  2. Collect the Pollen: Use a brush to dust off the pollen into the sheet.
  3. Transfer for Storage or Immediate Use:
    • Use the pollen directly from the sheet.
    • Sweep the pollen toward the pointed end for easy transfer into a storage container.
  4. Dry the Pollen Before Freezing: To prevent spoilage, ensure the pollen is thoroughly dried before freezing.
  5. Clean & Reuse: Rinse the Pollector thoroughly after each use to remove pollen residue and avoid cross-contamination.

Expert Tips for Optimal Pollination & Pollen Collection

Protect the Flower from Contamination

To ensure successful pollination, cover the flower with a bag to prevent unwanted pollen exposure. Flowers go through two phases:

  • Female Phase: The flower is receptive and can be pollinated. However, accidental pollination from airborne pollen can occur, especially in small spaces with multiple flowers. A protective bag acts as a barrier, reducing the risk of unintended cross-pollination.
  • Male Phase: The flower starts producing pollen. If you previously pollinated the flower, avoid collecting its pollen, as it may contain mixed genetics from other sources. However, if left unpollinated, its pollen is safe to collect and store.

Best Practices for Pollen Handling & Storage

  • Use Separate Brushes for Different Pollen Types: Prevent cross-contamination by designating one brush per pollen type and storing them together.
  • For Professionals: If selling hybrid crosses, use disposable brushes - one per collection - to guarantee pure genetic lineage.
  • Label & Store Pollen Correctly: Place pollen in a labeled container (include plant name and date) and store it in the refrigerator.
  • Pollen Longevity: Properly stored pollen remains viable for 8–12 months under refrigeration.

Easy Maintenance & Cleaning

To maximize efficiency and prevent pollen contamination, always clean the Pollector thoroughly after each use. Simply rinse with water and ensure no pollen residues remain.

Do NOT buy, it’s literal poison. Has forever chemicals.
Style: SPF 50 Spray Mineral Sunscreen, Size: 4.5 Ounce (1 Pack), Style: SPF 50 Spray Mineral Sunscreen, Size: 4.5 Ounce (1 Pack)
🚨do NOT buy this🚨It has forever chemicals in it - Tetrafluoropropene. Also has Hydrogenated polydecene - The chemical structure of synthetic hydrocarbons is similar to that of MOSH, another group of petrochemical-derived ingredients. A 2016 study states that "it seems prudent to assess their safety in the same way," suggesting that they could have comparable toxic effects on the body. MOSH may accumulate in the body, particularly in lymph nodes and body fat, where they could trigger inflammatory reactions. Liver effects have also been observed experimentally in certain types of rats, but have not been confirmed in humans to date. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) recommends continuing studies to better assess the toxicity of these MOSH compounds, as "the consequences of the long-term accumulation of MOSH on human health have not been evaluated and remain uncertain." These compounds should especially be avoided in products where there is a risk of ingestion, such as lip balms and lipsticks. Moreover, the production of this ingredient has a significant environmental impact due to the extraction of hydrocarbons from underground and the high energy consumption required for its manufacture. *5 stars only so people will see this.*

Best Mineral Sunscreen Ever With Zinc And Titanium ... All Of The Good Stuff, None Of The Bad
(This review is specifically for the SPF 30 spray.) Goes on ultra-light and silky-smooth, blends in easily and completely, leaves no residue, and provides effective UVA/UVB sun protection. Zinc oxide and aloe vera receive most of the emphasis, although there's no picture of – or word about – the ingredients label (which there should be). The aloe adds a very gentle, soothing touch, and is the most abundant inactive ingredient. More importantly, there's no mention of the other active ingredient, titanium, which combines with zinc to provide a comprehensive, potent, protective mineral sunscreen. With a sunscreen this good, why even consider using anything else?

Covered in white sticky film
Used this today, thought I was being healthy conscious picking this brand. Let me tell you, it doesn't spray well, it leaves blotches of white sticky film that I couldn't even run in. I look like I made out with a snowman, kind of embarrassing on the beach as I need color, not more white streaks all over my body. First and last time for me, the other brands are invisible, this one coats you like a white barn.

Sunscreen won’t spray
Style: SPF 50 Spray Mineral Sunscreen, Size: 4.5 Ounce (1 Pack)
Love the sunscreen but it literally stopped spraying after about 5 uses. There is a lot still left to use but the product won’t spray.
