Sansevieria trifasciata ‘Golden Edge’ is a refined and resilient variety from the Asparagaceae family, known in Romania by the popular name "Mother-in-law's Tongue". It stands out with its long, vertical leaves in shades of deep green, elegantly edged with a golden-yellow band, giving it a sophisticated and contemporary look.
Native to the arid regions of West Africa, ‘Golden Edge’ is ideal for apartments, offices, and commercial spaces, being a robust plant with minimal maintenance requirements. Additionally, it is recognized for its air-purifying ability, helping to reduce levels of toxins such as formaldehyde and benzene.
✔ Botanical characteristics
• Leaves: Long, rigid, with a transverse pattern in shades of green and continuous golden edges, arranged vertically.
• Stem: Underground, rhizomatous, promotes the formation of new plants and vegetative propagation.
• Flowers: Rare indoors; small, greenish-white, grouped on a thin, fragrant spike.
• Growth: Moderate, the plant forms compact clumps, with leaves that can exceed 80–100 cm under optimal conditions.
• Lifespan: Very long – can exceed 10–15 years if properly cared for.
🌿 Care instructions
• Light: Preferably indirect light or partial shade; tolerates low light, but coloration becomes more intense in bright areas.
• Optimal temperature: 15–30°C; tolerates down to approx. 10°C, but growth slows in cold environments.
• Watering: Low. Water only when the substrate is completely dry. Avoid overwatering.
• Substrate: Well-drained, preferably a succulent mix (peat + sand + perlite).
• Fertilizing: Monthly during the growing season (spring-summer) with diluted fertilizer for green plants.
• Repotting: Every 2–3 years or when roots completely fill the pot.
Sansevieria ‘Golden Edge’ is ideal for those who want an impressive, easy-to-maintain plant that adds structure and elegance to any space. Perfect for modern interiors or as a minimalist decorative accent.
📌 Note: Some leaves may show scars, fine marks, spots, or superficial scratches that appeared over time from handling, rubbing between leaves, maintenance work, or transport. These signs are strictly aesthetic, they do not “heal” on the existing leaf, but do not affect the plant’s viability; new leaves will grow normally under proper conditions.
Height with pot included approx. 50 cm
