Philodendron Microstictum - Easy-Care Heart-Shaped Interior Plant
Introducing the Philodendron Microstictum, an interior plant hailing from Costa Rica. Characterized by its matte green, heart-shaped leaves, this plant is renowned for its ease of care, making it an ideal addition to any indoor green space.
Here are some care tips for your Philodendron Microstictum:
Light: Thriving in moderate to bright indirect light, it's best to avoid direct sunlight exposure.
Watering: Water the plant when the top layer of the soil is dry. During spring and summer, water the plant approximately every 4 days. Reduce the watering frequency in the autumn.
Soil: Utilize a blend of universal potting mix or a combination of 1/4 garden soil, 1/4 sand, and 2/4 peat soil for ideal growth conditions.
Fertilizer: Apply a balanced mineral fertilizer every 15 days during spring and summer. In autumn, consider adding a bit of organic compost to the soil.
Humidity: Maintain an ideal humidity level of around 50%. Spraying the leaves every two days helps ensure consistent humidity.
Temperature: Ideal temperature ranges from 15°C to 27°C (59°F to 80°F). Avoid letting the temperature drop below 5°C (41°F) during winter.
Pests and Diseases: In cases of excessively low ambient humidity, the plant might be susceptible to attacks by red spider mites.
