Brazilian Blue Cactus (Pilosocereus azureus)

Electric-blue ribs, golden spines, and fast upright growth make this a showpiece indoors or out.

Growth Habit: Columnar, fast-growing Bloom Season: Summer (night-blooming) Dormancy: Winter Sun Exposure: Full sun to very bright light Soil Needs: Fast-draining cactus mix with grit Hardiness Zones: 9b–11 (protect from frost) Native To: Brazil

Pilosocereus azureus is prized for its rich blue skin that gets brighter with strong light. The ribs are neatly lined with golden spines, giving striking contrast. It grows quickly with heat and sun, making it a great statement plant for bright windows, patios, or warm gardens in frost-free areas. With the right care, your cutting will root and take off.

What you’ll receive:

  • Unrooted 6–9 inch cutting of Brazilian Blue Cactus
  • Cutting is healthy and calloused for shipping (no roots yet)
  • No soil or pot included
  • Natural color, markings, or small scars may be present

After Arrival

Carefully unpack your cutting. The base may look dry; that is normal. Set the cutting in a dry, shaded, airy spot for 1–2 weeks to finish callousing. Do not water during this period. Once the cut end is firm and dry, pot it in dry cactus soil and keep in bright shade while roots form.

Transplant Tips

When potting, bury 1–2 inches of the calloused end in dry mix and stake if needed to keep it upright. Wait 7–10 days, then begin light watering. Keep warm (70–90°F) for faster rooting. In cold weather, grow indoors and protect from frost.

Subpar everything
Format: Hardcover
I read almost all the new Batman comics that come out...I haven't been this disappointed in a book in a LOOOOONG time. So boring. Bad art. Bad dialogue. Superficial/basic characters. No emotion. Half-baked Elseworlds universe (if you going to make some changes - make it worth it!). I could go on. When it got to the "big twist" at the end, my eyes rolled so hard I got a headache. I wish I didn't waste my money on this.

Better than the Chronicles
Format: Paperback
I hope DC keeps on publishing these omnibus series up to the silver age and also the softcover option. I much prefer these new softcover editions over the older chronicles series for several reasons. These STGA softcovers are very big almost twice the stories compared to the chronicles and at a very affordable price. Actually a very good price. Also the paper is one hundred times better, I hated the chronicles' paper. Amazon is wonderful too, they now deliver my comics to my house in Costa Rica in less than a couple of weeks, they always arrive before the scheduled time. Excellent service. The only thing to complain is the reproduction. I consider that Marvel makes better efforts than DC to restore their GA stuff. The Cory Sedlemeier books like the Marvel Comics Golden Age omnibus look like they were drawn this morning. DC is usually quite cheaper and prefers not invest in that. So we get the same results as the old early 2000s Archives. I know today it is impossible to get original art pages of action comics 1-10 But I still think that compared to Marvel DC is very lazy and a skintflint when it comes to restoring their old books.
