Hoya carnosa, commonly known as Porcelain Flower, Wax Plant, or Honey Plant, is a beloved trailing houseplant prized for its elegant vines and unique blooms. Native to East and Southeast Asia as well as Australia, this tropical plant naturally grows by climbing and trailing, making it perfect for hanging baskets or training on a trellis.
This plant features long, slender vines adorned with thick, waxy, deep green leaves that may be flecked with silver or creamy white variegation. Its most striking feature is its flower clusters—star-shaped blooms arranged in umbrella-like (parachute-shaped) clusters. These flowers are not only visually stunning with their porcelain-like appearance but also emit a sweet fragrance and may produce a sticky nectar-like sap, adding to their charm.
To create a fuller look, the vines can be gently wrapped around a bamboo trellis and secured, encouraging denser growth and a decorative display.

Don’t waste your money or time!

Don’t waste your money. The instructions make no sense and the metal poles are either sized wrong for the product or screw holes are incorrectly placed, but no two poles matched in size and placement making it impossible to put this together without the panels being warped. No matter how I tried to switch the poles to see if I had them wrong, they always turned out warped and incorrectly fit. I finally gave up and threw everything out - I wasted $50 on this junk and because I didn’t try to put it together immediately after I bought it, it is way too late for a refund. Lesson learned!
