ZZ ‘Zamicro Black’, botanically classified as Zamioculcas zamiifolia ‘Zamicro Black’, is a compact cultivar admired for its deep green to nearly black foliage and refined, architectural form. The thick, glossy leaflets grow densely along upright stems, creating a bold, sculptural look that stands out in modern interiors. Its darker colouring intensifies under bright indirect light, making it a striking alternative to standard green ZZ plants.
As a cultivated form of the classic ZZ plant, ‘Zamicro Black’ shares the resilience and adaptability the species is known for, while offering a smaller growth habit and richer leaf colour. Native to Eastern Africa, ZZ plants store water in thick rhizomes, allowing them to tolerate a wide range of indoor conditions. This variety is especially well suited for desks, shelves, and spaces where a compact but dramatic plant is desired.
