Blueberry Pie® Butterfly Bush – A Sweet-Scented Pollinator Magnet

The Blueberry Pie® Butterfly Bush (Buddleia Blueberry Pie™) is a showstopper that brings vibrant color, enticing fragrance, and incredible pollinator appeal to your landscape. This stunning butterfly bush stands out with its rich, blueberry-hued flower spikes that bloom from summer through fall, attracting butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees in droves. Whether you're looking to create a butterfly haven, add long-lasting color to your garden, or enjoy an easy-care shrub with fantastic drought tolerance, this variety delivers.

Why You'll Love the Blueberry Pie™ Butterfly Bush

  • Unique Blue-Purple Blooms – Unlike traditional butterfly bushes that lean toward lavender or deep purple, Blueberry Pie™ features a rare and striking blueberry-toned flower color.
  • Massive Blooms for Months – Enjoy oversized, fragrant flower clusters from early summer to the first frost.
  • Pollinator Paradise – Expect a garden buzzing with butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds drawn to its nectar-rich flowers.
  • Compact & Manageable Growth – While some butterfly bushes can become oversized, this variety maintains a well-behaved, rounded shape, making it perfect for smaller gardens.
  • Drought and Heat Tolerant – Thrives in full sun and tolerates dry conditions once established.
  • Low Maintenance & Non-Invasive – No need to worry about aggressive spreading; this variety stays put while offering an easy-care experience.

Standout Features of Blueberry Pie™ Butterfly Bush

Brilliant Blueberry Tones That Pop

While many butterfly bushes offer shades of lavender or deep purple, the Blueberry Pie™ is one of the few varieties with a rich, true-blue to deep violet hue. The bold flower spikes create a striking contrast against its silvery-green foliage, making it an eye-catching focal point in any garden. If you're looking for a unique and vivid color, this butterfly bush stands apart from the rest.

Extended Bloom Time for Continuous Beauty

One of the biggest advantages of the Blueberry Pie™ Butterfly Bush is its exceptionally long blooming season. You’ll enjoy gorgeous flower spikes from early summer all the way to the first frost. This means months of continuous colorand an ever-changing display as new blooms emerge and mature.

A Butterfly and Hummingbird Magnet

This butterfly bush is aptly named, as it draws butterflies like crazy. Monarchs, swallowtails, and other pollinators flock to its nectar-rich blooms, creating a lively and dynamic garden experience. Not only do butterflies love it, but so do hummingbirds and beneficial bees. If you want a garden filled with movement and life, this plant is a must-have.

Compact, Yet Bold Presence

Many traditional butterfly bushes can reach enormous sizes, but Blueberry Pie™ is more compact and manageable. It typically grows 3 to 5 feet tall and wide, making it ideal for mixed borders, foundation plantings, or even large containers. Its rounded growth habit ensures a full, lush look without becoming unruly.

Tough and Resilient – Ideal for Hot, Dry Climates

Once established, the Blueberry Pie Butterfly Bush is incredibly drought-tolerant. It thrives in full sun and can withstand high heat and dry conditions, making it perfect for water-wise gardens. Whether you live in an arid climate or just want a hardy plant that won’t need constant watering, this shrub won’t let you down.

Non-Invasive & Easy to Maintain

Unlike older varieties that spread aggressively, this butterfly bush stays where you plant it. It does not produce viable seeds, meaning you can enjoy its beauty without worrying about unwanted spread. Plus, it requires minimal care—just an occasional trim in early spring to promote fresh growth.

Where to Plant Your Blueberry Pie Butterfly Bush

Garden Borders & Pollinator Gardens

Position it along the edges of your flower beds or pollinator garden, where it can serve as both a nectar source and a stunning visual feature.

Cottage Gardens & Informal Landscapes

Its abundant blooms and relaxed growth habit make it a fantastic addition to cottage-style landscapes or wildflower-inspired gardens.

Containers & Small Spaces

Because it stays compact, Blueberry Pie™ is an excellent choice for large patio containers or smaller urban gardenswhere space is limited.

Dry or Low-Water Landscapes

If you’re planning a drought-tolerant or xeriscape garden, this butterfly bush is a perfect fit. It thrives in poor soil conditions and hot, sunny spots with minimal watering.

Care & Growing Tips

  • Sun Exposure: Requires full sun (6+ hours per day) for the best flower production.
  • Soil Needs: Adapts to most soil types but prefers well-draining soil.
  • Watering: Once established, only needs occasional deep watering during prolonged dry spells.
  • Pruning: Cut back in early spring to encourage fresh, vigorous growth.
  • Fertilizing: A light application of balanced fertilizer in spring can promote even more blooms.

Final Thoughts – Why You Need This Butterfly Bush in Your Garden

The Blueberry Pie™ Butterfly Bush is an unbeatable choice if you’re looking for a low-maintenance, long-blooming, pollinator-friendly shrub with jaw-dropping blue-purple blooms. It’s a fantastic way to attract butterflies and hummingbirds while adding months of vibrant color to your landscape. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Spells great
I use this product everyday and have used an entire set. They smell great and get you clean, there is a loofa bag included where you put the soap inside and makes scrubbing convenient. Recommend if you want to feel clean and smell really good.. this is the set you can use. I know the ladies like it a lot. I get compliments all the time. One lady told me "You smell like money"... LOL.. true story.

Great scent, but leaves a film on my skin.
I was expecting bars of soap with more of a peppermint/eucalyptus fragrance and I just could not relate those fragrances to what the soap actually smells like. The Viking Revolution soap doesn't smell bad per se, and actually for me is rather fragrance neutral like you might find with the more sterile hospital and clinic type soaps. The lather factor for the Viking Revolution soap is mild to moderate in our hard water. It doesn't overdo lathering up but does lather up enough to let you know it is soap and is rather pleasing when rinsing it off where with some soaps you rinse and rinse and still need to rinse more to get the lather off your skin. I wash my hands and face many times throughout the day and night and so far the Viking Revolution soap has done a great job in leaving me feel a bit more refreshed and clean. I have noticed a bit of moisturizing of my face and hands being much softer after use, so the Viking Revolution soap does seem to come through with that feature. I handle and am around livestock and animals quite often and did notice that the soap seemed to cut through the grime pretty easily. I haven't tried the Viking Revolution as a body wash type soap. The square bars are just about a perfect fit for my hand and are easy to hold onto. I will use one bar for the shower and keep the bar in a drip rack where it has a chance to dry out after use. I do really like the presentation of the soap itself and it's a nice touch that each bar comes individually wrapped and includes a sticker and a small card. A rather attractive package if you are giving it for a gift. I'm more favorable of recommending this soap than not recommending it. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is for the fragrances not really being detectable as peppermint and eucalyptus.I do think I would buy this soap again though, fragrance or not.

Awesome soap!
I love this soap. It was a little small, ut was great quality. If smelled good and did not break me out. I have very sensitive skin and this was very gentle on my skin. I usually use caswell and Massey soap and this soap is every bit as good as my normal c&m soap. Very good soap. I Will definitely will buy again.

Scent is too perfumey
This soap pack is ok for the price, but the bars don't lather very well. They do have a good level of moisturizer that doesn't feel too oily, but my big complaint is the scents. The black one is ok, but the others are like cheap perfume. And I mean CHEAP perfume. It actually hurts my nose. I have used higher end soaps with a beautiful scent that is subtle and natural. This is not that. Overall not a bad product for the price, but don't expect to smell like a $1 perfume. Yuck
