Description

The Red Edged Dracaena or Madagascar Dragon Tree is on NASA's list of top 10 air cleaning plants. This amazing natural air purifier doesn't just add oxygen to your home. It filters and removes pollutants, toxins, and carcinogens including benzene, formaldehyde, trichloroethylene, xylene, and toluene! These chemical compounds are thought to be responsible for Sick Building Syndrome so order a Dracaena or 3 for your workplace and your home to help keep you healthy!

It is hard to believe a simple houseplant can decrease your risk of cancer, asthma, allergies, auto-immune disorders and other diseases, but by filtering out harmful chemicals that is exactly what the Red Edged Dracaena does. For ideal purification NASA recommends a plant for every 100 square feet of living space.

This plant has a colorful, tropical look. Variegated, spiky leaves are green and yellow with pinkish-red edges. These colorful foliage clumps sit on top of attractive bamboo-like canes which offers some Asian flair. Dracaenas can grow quite large, but rarely surpass 6 feet tall and 3 feet wide as a houseplant.

The Dracaena is a low maintenance houseplant. Simply water it when the soil begins to dry. This plant can grow in low light conditions, but will grow best in medium to bright filtered light. The color is more vivid in brighter light and will dull in low light so keep this in mind when choosing a location for you Red Dragon plant.

Fertilize with our balanced, slow release fertilizer twice per year for best growth. This plant can be grown outside as a patio plant but needs some protection from the sun. It will need to be treated as an annual or moved in before temperatures drop below about 50 degrees. Dracaenas can be grown outside in tropical climates, zone 10 to 11.

Breathe easy with the Red Edged Dracaena. Order yours today!

How To Care

Look for an area with filtered high to low light. Red Edged Dracaena can tolerate low light conditions but the accent colors will fade and they will grow slower. The good thing is they need less water.

Allow the soil to dry between waterings. Test the soil by pushing your finger about 1 inch below the surface. Water when it is dry to the touch. You are much more likely to over water a Dracaena that under water. These plants like a humid environment. So be sure to keep your houseplant away from drafts. If your home is very dry your plant may benefit from misting the leaves a couple times per week.

Keep your houseplant fertilized with our slow release fertilizer about twice per year. The fertilizer will feed the plant slowly over time and encourage growth.

Repot when you notice that the soil seems to be drying out every couple days or you see roots coming to the surface. These are indicators that your plant is becoming rootbound. Dracaena like to be somewhat rootbound though so don't give your plant too much room in a new pot.

If you want to control the size of your Dracaena or stagger your canes, simply prune it where you want new growth to start.

This plant can be grown outside as a patio plant but needs some protection from the sun. It will need to be treated as an annual or moved in before temperatures drop below about 50 degrees.

Their other flavors without fizz are great...but not this one (My honest opinion).
Now I know why this one was so cheap! The taste was not pleasing to me at all... I threw it away. However, I do love their other lines, with the berry flavor being the best! Orange is good too but to obtain the best flavor, 2 spoons are required (for me anyways). Also, the berry flavor (while only taking 1 spoon) is even better tasting if you add a little lemon juice to it. Finally, I read that adding lemon juice to water helps to prevent kidney stones! Who knew! This is a good product but I think they went to far trying to add "fizz".... the effect was negative while the previous products are great!

Best one yet
Best tasting Metamucil if you enjoy carbonation. Less sweet than regular (even the no added sugar version felt a bit overly sweet to me). Lemonade is a close second but a bit too expensive. Wish it would come with a scoop but I saved one from a different product and dropped it into the jar here.

Great product, dislike new 43oz size
Works well. Prefer the “fizzy” formula over all others. I recommend adding powder to your cup, fill 30-50% with cold water, then use a small handheld milk frother to blend. It’ll “foam” then settle, add you can add more water. (If you fill the whole cup with water right away it’ll overflow when it foams up.) I prefer to drink it quickly, before it starts to thicken into a heavy gel/paste. 3 star rating for 2 reasons: 1) Strongly dislike the food coloring! 2) They recently changed container size and shape. It used to be a 29oz cylinder, now it’s 43oz and more like a tub. The new format is too large for my kitchen vitamin drawer + too wide and heavy to grab with one hand. (I’ve included side by side pics here - didn’t think to take them until I’d already removed the 43oz label for recycling.) I saved my last 29oz canister and I’ve been decanting powder from the 43oz, keeping the 43oz in pantry storage.

Great product
I have been using Metamucil for a long time! I can tell a difference in using the plain and the vitamin variety. I feel a more energetic. I will not use this variety close to bedtime. It does fizz a lot. Only add a small amount of water to the glass and after the fizz settles down add more water. Great product!
