A classic in any tropical landscape, you cannot go wrong with a Split Leaf Philodendron. These are incredibly easy to care for. The gorgeous emerald green leaves look right at home, no matter where you place them. They even work excellent in a cut flower arrangement for greenery, cut stems can last weeks in water.

Under perfect conditions these can reach impressive sizes at maturity, up to 10' tall. But regular pruning will help keep them at your preferred size.

They can tolerate full sun or part shade, but they do not like the soil to dry out for too long.

These are cold hardy, but foliage may die off after a hard frost. The roots will still survive and the plant will bounce back in the spring. Just prune back any dead foliage after a cold spell.
