They can easily bloom for half of the year or more! Anthurium andraeanum is a fantastic beginner plant that can tolerate a wide variety of growing conditions. For best results, place in an area where it will receive moderate to bright light and water when the soil is 50-75% dry.

Anthurium, like other members of the Aroid family, have insoluble calcium oxalates, which can cause mouth and GI irritation and upset, meaning they are not pet safe when it comes to our furry friends. On the reptile and amphibian front, they make amazing additions to tropical enclosures. Their sturdy leaves and flowers easily hold mature frogs and geckos.
