Plant ProCut® White Lite Sunflower Seeds in spring, and in summer, the sunflowers bloom heavily in gorgeous 4-inch flowers with creamy petals and a light honey-colored center disk. Borne singly on stiff, course stems, the flower heads continue over a long season and last a long time in a vase. Be sure to cut sunflowers in the early morning to encourage longer-lasting blooms.

Although a towering, elegant, and architectural presence in the garden, ProCut® White Lite sunflowers are not too tall to add to the back of a bed or border in a cottage, informal, cutting, or wildlife garden, where the tasty seeds bring the birds flocking.

A hardy annual, sunflowers are fast-growing, tough plants, both heat tolerant and pest resistant, including deer. But consider planting with chives. The onion scent helps deter aphids.

Sunflower seeds are easy to direct sow. Just pick a sunny spot with 6 to 8 hours of direct sun, moderately fertile, humus-rich, moist soil, with a neutral to alkaline pH and good drainage, preferably sheltered from the wind. Rake to a fine tilth, clearing stones and weeds; plant seeds ½ to 1½ inches deep, spaced 18 inches apart; cover thoroughly with soil; and water regularly. Applying a light application of fertilizer at time of planting and watering deeply but infrequently, once the plant is established, promotes deep rooting. And succession planting, sowing a new row every two to three weeks, will keep sunflowers coming right up to the first frost.

ProCut® White Lite Sunflower Seeds can also be started indoors and planted outdoors after the risk of frost has passed. If you plan to start your seeds indoors, be sure to check out our Bio Dome Seed Starter Kit. With the Bio Dome, you can control the temperature, light, and soil mix to ensure your seeds become strong for transplant.

It works
Size: S
On my bottling buckets, two from different manufacturers, it clamps well and keeps the racking cane out of the sediment at the bottom. It beats running the beer through a tight mesh bag. Lots easier. Should have gotten a racking cane, and a clamp, earlier.

Works perfectly!
Size: S
This clamp works perfectly! Holds the siphon tube securely. When you buy one of these clamps, measure the inside siphon tube. Not the outside tube the inner tube slides in. This was a bit confusing, but I got the right one and I'm happy with it!

Works as intended.
Size: S
The fact that this holds the racking cane in place is fantastic. It is like having another set of hands However, I would have liked to see a version, or additional piece of hardware that could be used to keep the cane from moving around so much and to keep it tilted toward the direction the carboy is tilted. But nonetheless, the unit does what it is intended.

Small clip, big help
Size: S
I've been making wine for 3 years now. Due to a cramped work area I use about 20 carboys which makes for lots of siphoning each time I need to re-rack. This small clip has made the process so much less hassle. It clips nicely to the 3, 5 and 6 gallon glass carboys that I use. It's tight enough on the siphon tube to prevent slippage. Pro-tip: Once your siphon is started, slide the clip around the rim of the carboy to position it under the siphon hose. This will keep the siphon tube fairly straight up and down in the carboy. Otherwise, the weight and pressure of the hose will cause the tube to not be vertical and you'll miss a larger portion of your beverage in the re-rack than you would if the tube were perfectly vertical.

Hold the tube. Save the world.
Size: S
Very great item. The printing resolution is very good and you can tell from the rigidity that it was not sparsely filled. Helps holds siphons onto my 5gal glass carboy and plastic bucket. I also used it to weigh down my siphon tube for a makeshift blow off tube during fermentation. Would recommend.
