Developed over the years by the talented Colorado plantsman Kelly Grummons in his Denver gardens, these hybrids are cherished for their impressive cold hardiness, drought tolerance, and sheer beauty. While some varieties are nearly spineless, all do have a few glochids to be mindful of.

They grow with a charming low and spreading habit, reaching mature sizes of about 6-18 inches tall by 3-4 feet wide. If you choose to plant them in containers, they’ll thrive best in a well-drained cactus mix, but don’t worry—they also flourish in our native soil! Just remember to avoid overwatering and provide good drainage for these wonderful plants.
