For drying purposes cut the flower heads while they are still tight buds. Hang them upside down in a cool place to dry for several weeks. The stems can sometimes be weakened

Helichrysum plants can grow up to 3 fall tall and will begin blooming in mid summer. For drying purposes cut the flower heads while they are still tight buds. Hang them upside down in a cool place to dry for several weeks. The stems can sometimes be weakened during the drying process and the addition of a floral wire before hanging will give the stem added support.Each seed packet contains a minimum of 45 seeds. The seeds are small and tricky to count so I always add extras. Each order comes with complete growing instructions. Strawflowers will grow and bloom best in at least 6 hours of full sunlight. Helichrysum is drought tolerant once established.
