It can be grown in a large container in northern climates or in the ground in tropical areas. Shampoo Ginger is a deciduous plant that loses its leaves in winter. When it’s dormant, you’ll often see the creeping rhizomes at soil level. Keep the plant dry and above 60 degrees until the leaves re-emerge in spring.
