Russell Lupine Seeds grow into striking perennial wildflowers known for their tall, dramatic flower spikes and vibrant mix of colors. Blooming in shades of blue, purple, yellow, pink, and white, these lupines add bold vertical interest and rich color to flower gardens, borders, and wildflower meadows.
Plants reach approximately 3 feet tall, making them an excellent backdrop for mixed beds or cottage-style gardens. Russell lupines return year after year once established and are highly attractive to pollinators, including bees and butterflies. Their long-lasting blooms also perform well as cut flowers, bringing color and structure indoors.
Dramatic Color and Garden Impact:
- Tall flower spikes with dense, colorful blooms
- Mixed shades of blue, purple, yellow, pink, and white
- Grows about 3 feet tall
- Strong visual impact in borders and back-of-bed plantings
Why Customers Love Russell Lupines:
- Reliable perennial that returns each season
- Excellent pollinator attraction
- Works well in flower gardens and meadow plantings
- Beautiful as both garden plants and cut flowers
How to Use / How to Grow:
Sow Russell lupine seeds in full sun to partial shade in well-drained soil. These seeds benefit from scarification before planting to improve germination. Lightly nick, scratch, or sand the seed coat using sandpaper or a nail file, then soak seeds before sowing, following packet instructions.
Provide consistent moisture during establishment. Once mature, lupines prefer well-drained soil and moderate watering. Deadheading spent blooms may encourage additional flowering and helps maintain a tidy appearance.
