A Compact Dianthus with Rich, Saturated Bloom Color

Dianthus Passion is a standout perennial for gardeners who want stronger color than the usual soft pink dianthus palette. Its vivid magenta-red to fire-engine red blooms bring bold contrast to the garden, rising above a neat cushion of silvery-blue evergreen foliage that keeps the plant looking clean and finished.

This compact habit makes it especially valuable in smaller planting spaces where every plant needs to earn its place. Whether used at the front of a border or repeated along a pathway, Dianthus Passion delivers high color payoff without taking over the bed.

Fragrant Flowers That Add More Than Just Color

The blooms are not only bright but also pleasantly fragrant, giving this perennial a classic dianthus charm that feels especially inviting near patios, walkways, and entry gardens. Up close, the lightly spicy fragrance adds another sensory layer that makes the plant feel more special than a simple filler perennial.

That blend of color and scent is what gives Dianthus Passion such strong purchase appeal. It performs visually from a distance, but it also rewards gardeners who place it where they can enjoy it up close throughout the bloom season.

Evergreen Foliage That Keeps Beds Looking Tidy

Even when not in flower, Dianthus Passion continues to contribute to the landscape with its silvery-blue evergreen foliage. The low mounded habit gives beds and borders a more polished edge and helps maintain structure through changing seasons.

That evergreen presence is one of the reasons Dianthus remains such a dependable design plant. It helps prevent the front of the bed from looking empty after bloom and gives gardeners a compact perennial that continues to enhance the overall landscape.

Ideal for Borders, Rock Gardens, and Containers

Dianthus Passion is especially useful in edging, rock gardens, raised beds, and containers where its tidy form and saturated flower color can be appreciated at close range. It fits beautifully into cottage gardens, sunny perennial borders, and patio planters, where it can soften edges and brighten transitions between larger shrubs and perennials.

Its size also makes it easy to use in multiples. A row of Dianthus Passion along a path or wall creates a crisp, intentional look, while a few plants tucked into mixed containers can add long-lasting color and fragrance without overwhelming the arrangement.

Deer Resistant, Drought Tolerant, and Easy to Grow

Dianthus Passion is a smart solution for homeowners who want a low-maintenance perennial with practical toughness. It is considered deer-resistant, becomes drought-tolerant once established, and thrives in sunny, well-drained locations where many other small-flowering plants struggle.

For gardeners looking for a compact perennial that combines dependable performance with strong flower color, this is an easy plant to recommend. It brings charm, structure, and repeated beauty to the landscape while staying manageable and easy to maintain.

a modern love story
Format: Kindle
This book captured my attention from the first line. She has a way of making you feel the emotions, heartache, and even loving memories she shares. I literally remember stopping to tell my boyfriend I couldn't wait to have kids because of the way she described picking up her children from school and their innocent smiles as soon as they saw her. It's a tragedy and a love story, and a coming to her own all in one. Loved this book!

Memories Are Made of This
Format: Kindle
Belle Burden has overcome a weighty burden—pun intended! Strangers is a book of many colors. There is so much of the overcast gray of heartbreak and estrangement. There is plenty of the blue of heavy disappointment and grief. But happily for every reader, there are so many of the bright colors of happiness and fulfillment. The premise of this memoir has been well documented—a wealthy, privileged life led by a woman of means is interrupted by the abrupt departure of her husband for points unknown. Children remain—-lodged in some difficult ‘tween years. Central is the woman who just happens to be made of pretty stern stuff as it turns out and who is a brilliant writer. Belle Burden is the belle of her own tale. She shares it all with the reader in un-put-down-able prose, sparing nothing, We are richer for reading Belle Burden’s beautifully crafted memoir. The warm glow of hope is there for all to share. Well done!

Bravely written account of a very painful time in a persons life. Told with out malice and highlights the awful task of having to go through a divorce navigating your way under almost suffocating circumstances. Be strong and realize that whether a person wants it or not, you are forced face the fact that you are making the most important financial decsion of your life.

Surprisingly Unputdownable
Format: Kindle
I read saw several reviews that said this book wasn’t really about anything, and they were right. There was no big drama, no fighting, no headline news. But there was something in the writing that felt profound and I couldn’t stop reading. And I’m glad I didn’t. In the end for me, this was a story about a marriage, and choices that were made and the strength of a woman who wouldn’t be silent, and the writing that brought so much emotion with it that I wound up feeling all of it so deeply. And when a writer can create those feelings in me, then her book was definitely worth reading. I highly recommend this book - I don’t think you’ll regret the time you spend in its pages. I know I didn’t.

Slightly Interesting
Format: Kindle
First, I think Belle is a great writer. There was a lot of effort put into making this a very readable book. I also think that what happened to her really was terrible. Her husband 100% was wrong in what he did to her with the affair and his disappearance. Ultimately, her marriage prior to the betrayal seemed very superficial. She acknowledges that she chose the comforts of wealth over a close relationship. She had a part time husband/father and honestly it's not surprising that he left. He was barely there to begin. Her absolute terror in imagining that she would drop down from the top 0.1% down to around the top 1% was not the compelling tragedy that she seems to think it is. Her bemoaning of the loss of ultra luxuries tended to diminish the emotional toll of her plight. The book is laced through with the eventual end that her husband is going to take his assets and half of hers, but it never happens. I think she wants to relate the uncertainty and fear that she had, but it comes off as fake panic. In the end, it's a sad story, but it was very predictable. It's a story about a woman who outsourced her responsibilities, who doesn't know how to operate without extreme wealth, and who shudders at the prospect of having to work a job. It was a short book, but 3 times longer than necessary.
