Jasperware is considered one of Josiah Wedgwood's most significant contributions to ceramic art and is the result of several thousand individual experiments. Consisting of a white stoneware body which can be colored by the addition of metal oxides, the composition of jasper was the factory's most closely guarded secret. In terms of quality and rarity, this crimson dip jardinière is counted among the most desirable examples of Wedgwood jasperware.Impressed “Wedgwood England”
