Aglaonema 'Chocolate' is a unique and elegant houseplant, prized for its dark leaves in shades of chocolate brown and deep green. Its rich, lush coloring adds a sophisticated touch to any indoor space, while being easy to maintain.
Origin: Aglaonema 'Chocolate' is native to tropical and subtropical regions of Southeast Asia. It grows naturally in the undergrowth of forests, enjoying the humidity and shade.
Growth: This plant has a moderate growth habit and can reach a height of 50 to 70 cm. The leaves are broad, oval, and slightly wavy, forming a compact and dense clump that adds volume and texture to your interior decor.
Flowers: Aglaonema 'Chocolate' occasionally produces small, white, spathe-like flowers, similar to those of other members of the Araceae family. These flowers are inconspicuous and do not compete with the dark foliage for attention.
Light: Aglaonema 'Chocolate' prefers indirect, moderate light. It tolerates low light conditions well, making it ideal for dimly lit rooms. Avoid direct sunlight, which can damage the leaves.
Watering: Water regularly to keep the soil slightly moist, but avoid soaking it. In winter, reduce watering frequency slightly. Make sure the soil does not dry out completely between waterings.
Substrate: Use a quality houseplant potting mix with good drainage. A mix of houseplant potting mix with a little perlite or vermiculite can improve soil aeration and prevent waterlogging.
Toxicity: Aglaonema 'Chocolate' is toxic to pets and humans if ingested. It is recommended to keep it out of reach of children and pets.
