Rhubarb Victoria is a premium heirloom variety prized for its exceptional culinary qualities and reliable performance across temperate climates. This early-maturing cultivar produces large, tender stalks with distinctive rosy-red coloring that transitions to pink and green at the tips—a visual indicator of optimal harvest readiness. The flesh delivers a notably sweeter, milder flavor profile compared to standard varieties, making it ideal for pies, jams, and fresh preparations without excessive sugar adjustment. Commercially favored for consistent yield and cooking performance, Victoria thrives in USDA Zones 4 through 8 and establishes productive crowns within its first full season. Each packet contains non-GMO heirloom seeds with an 80% or higher germination rate, requiring approximately 365 days from seed to first harvest. Our seeds are sustainably sourced and packaged in eco-friendly, reusable materials that align with responsible gardening practices. Perfect for home gardeners and small-scale growers seeking a proven, high-performing rhubarb variety with superior flavor and reliability.

Germination rate: About 94%. Tested 2/26. JSS.

We cannot possibly put all the directions you need for growing rhubarb in your area on the seed package. We recommend that you read articles or check with other gardeners in your area.

This is an heirloom seed, meaning it has been passed down from generation to generation for at least 75 years. As a rule, heirloom seeds taste better and will grow the same year after year.

These are also open pollinated meaning they will reproduce themselves. While all heirlooms are open pollinated not all open pollinated seeds are heirlooms.

Flaky and Doesn't Handle Moisture Well
Size: 36 PACK
The plates have a tiny amount of twist in the center and quite a bit of doming when flexed. While the outer edges are entirely floppy. Most of the center is smooth, but there are rough patches that flake off paper pieces when rubbed with a spoon or from a lot of moisture from food. The flat surface (not the inner walls) was able to withstand still water for about 10 minutes before weakening, so I wouldn't use it for wet or very moist foods.

Thinner Than Chinet, Far More Expensive
Size: 12 PACK
These platters are about the same size and shape as Chinet platters and are reminiscent of them in construction and form. However, these plates are about half as thick as a Chinet and at $10 for just 12 plates, that makes them FAR more expensive than Chinet which a 30-pack of their platters can be had for less than $7. So no, I won't be getting any more of these much thinner, much more expensive plates when Chinet offers a product that's usually sturdier than you need for far less than these platters. If they were cheaper than Chinet by a fair amount I'd have given them 5 stars as they're thick enough for most uses and thumbs up for compostability, but I have to call out the overpriced nature of them.
