Great strain of Bridgesii, they grow thick and tend to have a rounder/fuller head. Even here in southern California though, these guys can still develop various viral and fungal issues that tend to be common amongst Bridgesii. Humidity, excessive moisture, damage, and stress can all trigger symptoms. At our nursery, 99% of the time they will naturally heal, with the black area turning to a regular cactus scar color over a few months. Many collectors across the country where they have to control their growing environment and season may use various anyi fungal/viral treatments. On very rare occasions we will take a knife to an area that is spreading/not healing and cut damaged tissue away and allow air movement and sun to help with healing. Spots can also occur via shipping, we recommend being patient and allowing time to naturally heal vs panicking! Potted specimens will ship in their 1 gallon containers and will average between 10-12", sometimes taller per season. These are pretty specimens, but not show winners, they will likely have some scars and marks etc as just shared.
