Volcanic Pumice (3–8mm)
Lightweight Drainage & Aeration for Healthier Roots
Our Volcanic Pumice (3–8mm) is a natural, lightweight growing medium ideal for improving drainage, aeration, and soil structure in plant pots, containers, and specialist soil blends.
Formed from rapidly cooled volcanic lava, pumice has a naturally porous structure that helps roots access both air and moisture while preventing soil compaction.
🌱 Ideal for Cacti, Succulents & Soil Blends
Volcanic pumice is especially well suited for:
- Cacti and succulents
- Houseplants and container growing
- Free-draining soil mixes
- Terrarium drainage layers
- Bonsai and specialist horticulture
Its 3–8mm particle size makes it easy to mix evenly through soil or use as a functional top dressing.
💧 Balanced Moisture & Nutrient Support
Pumice absorbs small amounts of water and slowly releases it back to the root zone, helping maintain consistent moisture without waterlogging. Its porous surface can also hold nutrients within the soil mix, supporting steady plant growth.
♻️ Natural, Clean & Long-Lasting
- 100% natural volcanic mineral
- pH neutral and chemically inert
- Contains no fertilizers or additives
- Lightweight yet durable
- Can be reused and refreshed over time
A reliable, low-maintenance alternative to heavier aggregates such as gravel or clay pebbles.
🌿 Versatile & Decorative
With its natural light grey appearance, volcanic pumice can also be used as a decorative top layer to improve airflow at the soil surface, reduce evaporation, and give pots a clean, finished look.
Important Note
Pumice is a growing medium and soil amendment, not a fertilizer. Nutrients should be added separately based on plant requirements.
