Elevate your plant growing experience with our top-quality 50mm compressed coco coir pellets. Crafted from 100% natural coconut husk fibers, these pellets expand upon hydration to create an optimal growing medium. This soil is the primary growing media used in the Mountain Crest Gardens succulent nursery, so we can say from experience that your plants will thrive for many months, with excellent aeration, moisture, and pH balance.

Key Features

  • Optimal Size: Each pellet measures 50mm (about 2") square, enough to fill 75% of a typical 3" clay pot.
  • Nutrient-Rich Composition: Infused with essential plant nutrients that support healthy growth for several months—no additional supplements needed.
  • High Compression: Compact and lightweight for easy storage and handling.
  • Excellent Aeration: Promotes healthy root systems by preventing soil compaction.
  • Helpful Water Retention: Maintains moisture without waterlogging, reducing watering frequency.
  • Eco-Friendly: Made from renewable coconut husks, offering a sustainable alternative to peat moss and a minimal carbon impact during transit.
  • Versatile Use: Suitable for various plants, especially succulents, cacti, and herbs.
  • Easy to Use: Simply add water to expand the pellets (takes about 2 minutes) and then it's ready for immediate planting.

Q: How do I prepare the coco coir pellets for planting?
A: Soak the pellets in water until fully expanded, usually for 2-3 minutes, and drain any excess water. Once hydrated, the soil is ready for planting.

Q: Can I use this soil for both indoor and outdoor growing?
A: Yes! It is ideally suited for outdoor growing, and also can excel at short term indoor growing (<12 months). If you plan to keep your plants indoors for more than a year, we recommend the top-rated Bonsai Jack® succulent soil, Jack's Gritty Mix. Jack's Gritty Mix also works better in clean indoor spaces, as it is stays tidier and doubles as an attractive top dressing.

Q: Do I need to add plant food or supplements?
A: The pellets are pre-enhanced with long-lasting nutrients that sustain plant health for several months.

Q: How long will the nutrients last?
A: Nutrient availability typically supports plant growth for 3 months or more, depending on plant size and watering habits.

Q: What kinds of plants is this soil suitable for?
A: Many kinds of plants will love growing in this soil, especially succulents, herbs, flowers, and vegetables. For most cacti, we recommend Jack's Gritty Mix.

Q: Can I use these pellets for seed starting?
A: Absolutely! Their fine texture and moisture retention make them excellent for germinating seeds.

Q: How should I store unused pellets?
A: Keep them in a dry, cool place to maintain their integrity until use.

Q: How much space do I need to store unused pellets?
A: Our compressed pellets ship in very compact boxes when compared to normal garden center soil bags: 512 pellets = 12x8x8 box, 256 pellets = 12x8x8 box, 128 pellets = 10x8x5 box, 64 pellets = 8x6x5 box, 32 pellets = 5x5x5 box.

Perfect, Safe Hose for My Rain Barrel Setup
Style: 1/2-Inch ID, Size: 4 Feet
This Camco TastePURE 4-foot water hose has been perfect for my rain barrel setup. The length is exactly what I needed for a clean, simple connection without excess hose to deal with. I really appreciate that it’s drinking-water safe with no lead, BPA, or phthalates. Even though I’m using it with a rain barrel, it’s reassuring to know it’s made from safe materials. The reinforced design feels sturdy and durable, not flimsy like cheaper hoses. The 1/2” inside diameter provides solid water flow, and it’s made in the USA, which is a nice bonus. Great quality, reliable, and exactly what I was looking for. Easy 5 stars.

Wow, It’s 2026, I purchased in 2022!
Style: 5/8-Inch ID, Size: 50-Foot
I just looked up this hose again in my order history to get another. I was shocked to see that I ordered it four years ago. It held up through the most brutal northeast winter in decades, fully expected to it have burst, but no! Reliable and recommended!
