Group 14 Herbicide

Galigan® 500 SC contains 500g/L oxyfluorfen in a unique low odour, suspension concentrate formulation. It is registered for the control of a wide range of broadleaf weeds in forestry and ornamentals, industrial areas, non-crop situations, roadsides, rail and rights-of-way. DO NOT apply to turf as damage may occur.

Key Features:

  • Non-scheduled chemical
  • Long term residual from high rates
  • High active ingredient loading
  • Broad range of common grass and broadleaf controlled
  • Aerial application drop height up to 15m
  • Strong binding to soil
  • Safe to mature ornamental trees
  • Some species are tolerant to “Over-the-top” spray applications
  • May be applied with tank mix partners

Key Benefits:

  • Increased usage in and around public areas. Minimal PPE requirements for mixing and application
  • Expect up to 6 months residual control of common and hard-to-kill weeds
  • Lower application rates and reduced freight, drum storage and disposal costs
  • One pass spray operation, saving time and money
  • Operator safety and accuracy in aerial application
  • Will not move into desirable vegetation areas (e.g. turf) – great for pathways
  • Can spray under tree driplines and in garden beds
  • Ease of use when spraying Duboisia, pine and eucalypt plantations
  • Commonly mixed with non-selective herbicides such as glyphosate, glufosinate etc. to remove existing mature weeds

Application Recommendations:

Galigan® 500 SC can be used as either a post-emergent “spike” with non-selective herbicides, or as a pre-emergent applied to weed-free soil or weeds at seedling stage.

Galigan® 500 SC as a “spike”

  • Use recommended rates of glyphosate, paraquat or diquat/paraquat mixtures plus 36ml/ha of Galigan® 500 SC.
  • Improves knockdown and increases the speed at which treated weeds develop visible symptoms of phytotoxicity (compared to results achieved with glyphosate applied alone)

Galigan® 500 SC as a pre-emergent

  • For use in Eucalyptus spp. and Pinus spp. forestry plantations, industrial areas, non-crop situations, roadsides, rail and rights-of-way.
  • Although Galigan® 500 SC has some knockdown effect on certain weeds, best results are achieved on weed-free soil or weeds up to 4-6 true leaf stage. Use higher rates for longer residual control.
  • Forestry pre-plant applications: allow a plant back of 4 weeks prior to transplanting; use 1.5-1.9L/ha.
  • Forestry post-plant application: apply as a directed spray to the inter row in Eucalyptus spp. In Pinus spp an“over-the-top” spray can be utilised.
  • For post-plant applications in forestry and ornamental trees, industrial areas, non-crop situations, roadsides, rail and rights-of-way use 2L/ ha or 2 mL/10 m2.
  • In these situations ensure spray is directed to the base of seedlings, or that seedlings are protected. Generally, Galigan® 500 SC is regarded as safe to commonly planted forestry and ornamental species but the sensitivity of less common species should be tested on small areas before a large-scale application is made. Refer to the label or contact your ADAMA representative for more details.

Galigan® 500 SC can be applied by itself or with other products where extended range of target weeds is desired, or a quicker brown down required.

Compatible products include Victory IVM (clopyralid), Simanex (simazine), Firepower (haloxyfop), Excalibur IVM (sulfometuron), Exonerate (glufosinate) plus various glyphosate products (note Galigan® 500 SC is not compatible with 540g/L glyphosate products present as the potassium salt).

It is best to avoid weeds that are stressed, e.g. cold, dry or waterlogged plants, or spraying in hot or windy conditions. Galigan® 500 SC can be applied via knapsack, boom spray or aerially.

For post-emergent spraying, addition of a non-ionic surfactant at label rates may be of benefit, but this is not required for pre-emergent spraying to bare soil.

Ground application via knapsack or boom spray should be in a water spray volume of 250-500L/ha for treating bare soil or up to 1350L/ha when treating seedling weeds. Use the higher volumes where weed density is high.

Example - boom spray: 2L/ha Galigan® 500 SC in 500L/ha water

Example 2 - knapsack: 40ml Galigan® 500 SC /10L knapsack, to cover 200m2.

For aerial application a spray volume of 100L is recommended.

Thrilling Battles, Exciting Storyline & Cinema Quality Artwork
Format: Kindle
Wow! What a series. I had several friends recommended the Vader comic and they were right. It's an exceptional undertaking. Cinema quality artwork and an excellent storyline worthy of a novel. I finally picked up this Vader Down edition to find out what happened in between the first main Vader series. It does not disappoint. Vader is trapped on a world while searching for Like Skywalker and surrounded by rebel forces. This being Vader, a Dark Lord of the Sith, poses no problem. It features one of the best lines, "I am surrounded by fear. And dead men." He takes out three entire squads of rebel troops before confronting an Imperial ambush. Dr. Alpha and her murderous droids face off against Han Solo. Good vs bad Wookie fights and droid fights also add to the fray. A must read for Star Wars fans. Thrilling storyline and gorgeous artwork (I love how the characters look like the actors) make this a worthy addition to your comic collection. Magnificent.

Excellent, musst-read crossover story!
Format: Paperback
Jason Aaron is hands-down one of my favorite comic book writers. The characters in his Star Wars books in particular 'sound' exactly like they do on screen, which is a tough thing to pull off for such a well-loved universe. This series is extremely well put together with beautiful art and coloring. I simply couldn't be happier with the direction that Marvel is taking. The blend of 'familiar', while keeping things unique and fresh is really well done. I also love how Aaron enhances little details from the movies that I never really stopped to think about before, providing satisfying glimpses into the stories we know and love that fit beautifully into canon. This graphic novel in particular tells a fantastic story about Darth Vader's relentless pursuit to figure out who it was that destroyed the Death Star. Seeing the growth of Luke as a character in these early days is also fascinating. Definitely a must-read addition to the Star Wars canon!

Action Packed Crossover
Format: Kindle
Vader Down collects the crossover issues between Marvel's Star Wars and Darth Vader ongoing series. Luke Skywalker has gone to Vrogas Vas to find a former Jedi temple to learn more about the Jedi Order. Through the connections of Doctor Aphra, Vader has discovered his location and moves to intercept. Along with Vader is Aphra and her murderous droids, Triple Zero and BeeTee. Luke isn't without assistance as Leia, Han Solo, Chewie and C3PO head to Vrogas Vas along with a Rebellion army in order to take down Vader once and for all. The book paints a picture that shows how dangerous Vader can actually be -- he individually goes up against an entire squadron of rebellion X-Wings with a single tie fighter. It also sets up some entertaining face-offs such as droid versus droid (C3PO and Triple Zero; R2 and Beetee), wookie versus wookie (Chewie and the bounty hunter, Black Krssantan), rogue versus rogue (Han Solo and Doctor Aphra), and Jedi vs Sith (Luke and Vader). The book also sets the final showdown between Vader and Commander Karbin, one of the various protoge's of Doctor Cylo who were aiming to replace Vader as Palpatine's apprentice. Overall, the book is a decent read despite being a bit predictable. The showdowns between various opposing characters are entertaining and the book advances the storyline of both series. It does require a bit of an open-mind because it's supposed to be part of the canon of the Star Wars universe, but as with a previous confrontation between Luke and Vader, it comes off as a bit odd given their interactions in The Empire Strikes Back. The artwork varies a bit between Salvador Larocca and Mike Deodato. Both produce high quality work, but each chapter alternates between the two which can be a bit awkward to get used to.

Vader may be Down, but he is far, far from out.
Format: Paperback
I have been consistently pleased with the Darth Vader and Star Wars comic series, and the Vader Down crossover kicks it up to 11. It is easy, watching the movies, to forget how powerful Vader truly is. Anakin Skywalker was a prophesied Jedi Hero, or phenomenal raw talent. In only a few years he outclassed Jedi Knights who had been training two or three times as long as he had, but in the Original Trilogy, we have very few glimpses of that power. Not so in Vader Down. I won't spoil it, but let's just say Darth Vader has an impressive kill count. Within the lightsaber duels, fire fights, and interstellar dog fights, Vader Down (And the rest of the Darth Vader series) still finds time to build, if not sympathy, at least understanding for Darth Vader as a character. He is still a villain, but you find yourself rooting for his success more often than not. Overall, a phenomenal read. I cannot recommend it enough.
