Garden cress seeds - halim, asaliya, chandrasur - are the tiny powerhouse that South Asian mothers have been soaking in milk and feeding to daughters for generations, especially during puberty, menstruation, postpartum recovery, and lactation. The reason is iron. Garden cress is one of the richest plant sources of bioavailable iron available - and iron deficiency is the most common nutritional deficiency among women worldwide.

Dr. HERBALIST Garden Cress Seeds deliver 400g of premium Lepidium sativum. Beyond iron, these seeds pack calcium (supporting bone density during the life stages when women lose it fastest), protein, omega-3 fatty acids, and folate. The nutritional profile reads like a prenatal vitamin ingredient list - except it grew in a field instead of a factory.

Traditional preparation: soak 1 tablespoon in warm milk or water overnight. By morning, the seeds swell into a gelatinous, pudding-like consistency. Add jaggery and cardamom for the classic halim laddoo base. Mix into warm milk for the traditional postpartum drink.

400g is a multi-month supply. The seed that South Asian women's wellness has quietly depended on for centuries.

    It all makes sense now
    Format: Kindle
This book covers Ancient Chinese History, Starting from the Settlement at the Yellow River through the Xia, Shang, Zhou, and Qin Dynasties to the Han Dynasty. This should ring a bell for some folks as this is the period around the Yellow River shows the early development of man in this region. Ancient Chinese history is a tapestry of remarkable achievements, cultural developments, and political transitions that unfolded over thousands of years. It all began with the settlement at the Yellow River, where early agricultural communities emerged around 5000 BCE. This period witnessed the gradual transition from a hunter-gatherer lifestyle to settled farming communities, marking the foundation of Chinese civilization. From this fertile ground, the Xia Dynasty rose in the 21st century BCE, establishing the first recorded dynasty in Chinese history. Although little written evidence remains, the Xia period laid the groundwork for future dynasties, fostering advancements in agriculture, irrigation systems, and early forms of government. The subsequent Shang Dynasty (16th–11th century BCE) witnessed great cultural achievements, including the development of a complex writing system and the creation of magnificent bronze artworks. It was during this era that the concept of the Mandate of Heaven emerged, which stated that rulers' legitimacy depended on their ability to govern effectively. Following the fall of the Shang Dynasty, the Zhou Dynasty (1046–256 BCE) emerged and introduced the feudal system, characterized by a decentralized government. This era saw the flourishing of philosophy, with notable thinkers like Confucius and Laozi influencing Chinese thought for centuries to come. The Qin Dynasty (221–206 BCE) unified China under the rule of Emperor Qin Shi Huang, bringing about remarkable political and administrative reforms. It standardized currency, measurements, and writing systems, and constructed the Great Wall of China. Although short-lived, the Qin Dynasty paved the way for the subsequent Han Dynasty. The Han Dynasty (206 BCE–220 CE) was a period of significant cultural and technological advancements. It expanded the empire's territorial reach, established the Silk Road, and embraced Confucianism as the official ideology. The Han Dynasty left a lasting legacy, shaping the Chinese state and society for centuries. Through these pivotal dynasties, Ancient Chinese history witnessed the development of a rich and enduring civilization, with contributions that continue to influence the world today.

    very detailed larger book
    Format: Kindle
Most books or movies center on the Battles and Victories that made him. This book is different in its details of geography and people and pre-historical events.

    ...there Is much to learn....
    Format: Kindle
In spite of the title; it's not until 40% into this book that the subject matter actually gets around to "Alexander the Great'. Oddly, several times, the text uses the phrase "might have said" to signify what someone MIGHT have said. Then there are occasions where the reader is told that someone uses cunning, or brilliant planning, to achieve a goal…but the method or action is not actually explained. Then there are (of necessity?) occasions where the author purely assumes or guesses at circumstances, or actions. The great majority of the book is taken up with detailed descriptions of battles. STILL - there Is much to learn from this glorification of Alexander.
