Cannova® Orange Shades Canna Lily (Canna 'Cannova Orange Shades') brings the bold drama of tropical cannas to a more manageable scale. This breakthrough Cannova series delivers the exotic appeal of traditional cannas with a compact 2-3 foot height that works beautifully in containers, mixed borders, and smaller gardens. The show-stopping orange blooms feature a luminous blend of apricot, coral, and tangerine tones that shift subtly as flowers mature, creating a dynamic color display from early summer straight through to fall frost.

Continuous Summer Color

Unlike older canna varieties that take breaks between bloom cycles, Cannova Orange Shades produces fresh flowers relentlessly throughout the growing season. Each sturdy stem pushes up multiple flower buds that open in succession, ensuring there's always color on display. The large, gladiolus-like blooms stand proudly above broad, tropical foliage that provides a lush green backdrop. This non-stop flowering habit makes it especially valuable for containers on patios and decks where you want guaranteed color all summer long.

Landscape Versatility

The compact habit opens up design possibilities that weren't practical with taller cannas. Plant Cannova Orange Shades at the front or middle of borders where you can actually see the flowers without them towering overhead. The warm orange tones pair beautifully with purple salvia, blue agapanthus, or golden rudbeckia in mixed plantings. In containers, it provides a bold thriller plant that won't overwhelm smaller companions. The tropical foliage adds instant resort-style atmosphere to pool areas, entryways, or anywhere you want to create an exotic escape.

Heat and Humidity Lover

Cannas thrive in the hot, humid conditions that stress many other flowering plants. Cannova Orange Shades actually performs better as temperatures climb, producing more flowers during peak summer heat when spring bloomers have long since faded. This makes it an invaluable plant for Southern gardens and anywhere with steamy summers. Hummingbirds visit the tubular flowers regularly, and butterflies appreciate the nectar source during the late-season bloom period when other flowers are scarce.

Winter Care by Zone

In zones 9-11, Cannova Orange Shades grows as a true perennial that dies back in winter and returns each spring. Zone 8 gardeners can often overwinter rhizomes in the ground with heavy mulch protection. In zone 7 and colder areas, either grow it as an annual or dig the rhizomes after the first frost, let them dry for a few days, then store in barely moist peat moss in a cool basement until spring replanting time. The rhizomes are easy to divide every few years, giving you more plants to spread throughout your garden or share with neighbors.

If you've been hesitant about cannas because of their size, Cannova Orange Shades changes the equation entirely. You get all the tropical drama and non-stop color without the need for staking or managing plants that reach six feet tall.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Fun with a late blooming omega
Format: Kindle
I like this book. The story is fun, cute, and sexy. There's just a little drama, some excellent, steamy scenes, and a fairly good relationship building storyline. I especially like how all the main characters are a bit older than the usual 20 somethings I tend to see in this kind of book. Having said that, I wish there were more descriptions of the places, as well as the food in the fancy restaurant. I enjoyed the cocktails at the club, so I missed that kind of detail when Gray took Madison on a dinner date. I also wish there had been more interaction between Lucas and Madison, and Lucas and Rian. It felt a bit lopsided, with a focus on Rian, Madison, and Gray. I wish it had been proofread - there are a lot of typos, but nothing too distracting.
