Growing instructions: Plant seeds in fall. Cool temperatures and winter rains help young plants become established and increase in size before blooming in spring. Scatter seeds evenly on freshly raked soil. Press seeds into soil and lightly cover them with a thin layer of compost or soil. Many wildflower seeds need light to sprout, so avoid planting more than one-eighth inch deep. Germination occurs between 10 and 21 days. Do not thin plants; wildflowers naturally grow close together and this density encourages blooming. Young plants need regular watering until they are established; winter rain can help supplement the watering schedule.
