They are sensitive to overwatering and oversoaked soil, but at the same time, they do well in soils that are consistently moist (but not soggy). There has to be the proper balance between moisture retention and aeration.

Thus, we have formulated our Alocasia Potting Mix to provide good drainage and aeration while it can still retain moisture. This is done by selecting high quality ingredients. Peat moss, coco chunks and coco peat help in moisture retention, yet they provide aeration because of their light texture. Perlite, pumice, pine bark and clay pebbles provide additional air pockets while allowing excess water to drain properly.

Like all our potting media, our Alocasia Mix is soil-less. We do not add garden soil or any type of soil because soil becomes sticky or compacted, which eventually leads to root decay. It is made with premium high quality materials to ensure that we deliver the maximum benefit for your plants and therefore, the most value for your money.

This potting mix is light and well- draining, which allows air and water to flow through easily. Pine bark and coco chunks are added to create air pockets where oxygen can flow better to the roots.
