50-65 Days—Georgia Southern is a large collard plant with a cabbage-like taste! This variety produces bluish-green leaves that can grow up to 36" tall and do not bunch or head like cabbage leaves.

When treated as a 'cut and come again' type of vegetable, the collards become nice sized trees. These large open heads are great for cooking or freezing.

Normal Packet: 50+ seeds

Sowing: For a spring crop, direct sow Georgia Southern collards seeds 6-8 weeks before the last spring frost. For a fall crop, direct sow the seeds 6-8 weeks before the first fall frost. For smaller plants, plant a few seeds every 12” and1/4 deep; later remove all but the strongest plant. If you need bigger plants, space them 2’ apart. For companion planting benefits, plant collards with tomatoes.

Growing: Water regularly, and provide compost or organic fertilizer several times in the summer. Collards tolerate heat very well.

Harvesting: Begin gathering leaves when the plant reaches 10-12” high; take the outer leaves first. Eventually your plant will begin to resemble a tree, with all the leaves on the top of the stalk; at this point it may need the support of a stake. A spring crop of collards usually comes an end in the hot weather of summer, while a fall crop will produce well after frost. Frost actually makes the flavor of collards much sweeter.

Seed Saving: Allow the plant to flower and go to seed. The pods will look somewhat like small green beans. After the pods dry and the seeds inside are dark brown, remove them from the plant and dry them completely indoors. Clean off as much chaff as possible, then store Vates collards seeds in a cool, dry place.

Very good
Color: 4-in-1 Wine Aerator Set - Silver
I'm so glad I bought this wine aerator- it completely exceeded my expectations. It made the wine taste incredibly smooth and high‑quality, almost like an upgraded version of the bottle I opened. The craftsmanship is excellent, and the price is very reasonable for how well it works. Truly a wonderfully made product! :)

Doesn't do much to the wine. But a tremendous value if you need one.

Great size, design, and 100% metal grinding mechanism
Color: 1pcs-Sliver-304
***PLEASE NOTE: This review is only for the more expensive version here with the all metal grinding mechanism and not the cheaper version that looks the same but has a ceramic grinder that’s also available on this page — hope this helps avoid potential confusion. My advice is to splurge on the metal grinder version. ***UPDATE 3/18/26*** Well, after almost two years of fairly heavy daily use the first flaw has emerged so thought I’d share. Yesterday the silver wrapping on the grinder part came loose making it hard to turn the grinder as it was slipping. I did a quick fix by adding some super glue around the seam at the top of the grinder and that’s done the trick at least for now. I’m leaving my 5-star rating because I remain thrilled with its overall performance and frankly would’ve ordered another one if this fix didn’t work, but so far it appears to be holding. 🤞 So still very happy but just wanted to share in case anyone else experiences this. ***UPDATE 8/18/25*** So I’ve now had this for over a year, and under pretty heavy daily use I’m happy to report it still works as well as the day I bought it. Great product, and it’s a pleasure to use every day. ***UPDATE 10/3/2024*** So, after almost four months of pretty heavy daily use I just wanted to report back that this grinder continues to work perfectly and shows every sign of lasting for years to come. I especially like the glass jar so I can see when I’m running low on black peppercorns, and even though it’s got a small form factor it holds a lot so I don’t have to refill it frequently despite using it multiple times daily. I’m super happy with this product all around and recommend it highly!!! ================================ Been using this for a few days now and am very happy so far. I’ve used a traditional wood pepper mill my whole life, but now it’s just me so I wanted something smaller and with a glass body so I can easily see when I need to add more peppercorns. I also wanted an all metal grinding mechanism (that this version has for an few dollars more) instead of ceramic, which doesn’t seem to hold up as well, and I definitely wanted no plastic parts involved in the actual grinding either — don’t need any more microplastics in my diet thank you. This one seemed to check all the boxes, and so far it’s been great. Initially it was set to a more fine, powdery grind, but it was super easy to adjust to a more course grind that I prefer and it’s perfect. Overall it seems well built and is very easy to use, and as long as this holds up it’s a definite keeper. I’ll report back if any future mishaps, but as of now I’d recommend this very highly!

Most excellent spice grinder!
Color: 1pcs-Sliver-304
This spice grinder grinds my cumin and coriander seeds perfectly with very little effort and it’s attractive. I’m sure it will last longer than my plastic one that broke recently. Very happy with my purchase!
