Anthurium 'Ace of Spades x (Magnificum x)' is a striking hybrid that combines the dramatic, dark foliage of the 'Ace of Spades' with the robust growth and frilly margin of Anthurium magnificum. This plant is known for its large, velvety, heart-shaped leaves that often feature deep green or nearly black tones, accented by lighter veining that gives the leaves a textured, almost metallic look. As it matures, the leaves grow larger and more pronounced, making it a standout in any indoor space. Its combination of bold aesthetics and relatively manageable size makes it popular among collectors of aroid plants.

This hybrid thrives in high humidity and indirect light, similar to its parent species, and requires attentive care to maintain its stunning foliage. It can be grown easily but its needs for warmth, humidity, and well-draining soil must be met for optimal growth.

Native to
This hybrid is a product of crossbreeding within the genus Anthurium, combining traits from the dark-leaved 'Ace of Spades' and the large, veined magnificum. While the hybrid itself does not occur in the wild, its parent species are native to the tropical rainforests of Central and South America, particularly Colombia and Ecuador. These plants naturally grow as epiphytes or terrestrials in the humid understory of rainforests.

Water
Anthurium 'Ace of Spades x (Magnificum x)' requires consistently moist but well-draining soil. Water when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry to the touch, being careful not to let the plant sit in waterlogged conditions, which can lead to root rot. A well-draining, chunky aroid mix, including orchid bark, perlite, and peat or coir, is ideal for retaining moisture without suffocating the roots. Reduce watering slightly in cooler months.

Light
This hybrid prefers bright, indirect light. Too much direct sunlight can cause the leaves to burn, while low light can slow down growth and dull the rich colours of the foliage. A spot near a north- or east-facing window or in a room with filtered light is ideal. Avoid harsh midday sun, which can damage the plant’s delicate velvety leaves.

Humidity
High humidity is crucial for Anthurium 'Ace of Spades x (Magnificum x)' to thrive, with ideal levels above 60%. If humidity drops too low, the leaves may develop brown, crispy edges or fail to reach their full size. Use a humidifier or place the plant on a humidity tray to maintain sufficient moisture in the air. This hybrid can also be grown in terrariums or enclosed environments if space allows.

Temperature
This plant prefers warm, stable indoor temperatures, ideally between 18°C and 26°C. Avoid exposing it to temperatures below 15°C, as it is sensitive to cold and may suffer damage. Keep the plant away from draughts and cold windows, especially during winter, to prevent shock. A consistently warm and humid environment will ensure the plant grows healthily and displays its best foliage.

Exceptional Quality for Professional Presentations
Size: 1 Ream | 500 Sheets, Style: Letter (8.5x11)
I recently purchased the Hammermill Premium Color 32 lb Copy Paper for a series of important presentations, and I am thoroughly impressed with its performance. This paper has elevated the quality of my work, making it stand out with its professional finish. Superior Brightness and Smoothness The 100 brightness rating ensures that colors pop and text is crisp, providing excellent contrast for both color and black-and-white prints. The ultra-smooth finish allows for superior toner adhesion, resulting in vibrant and sharp images without any smudging or bleeding. Heavyweight Durability At 32 lb, this paper offers a substantial feel, giving documents a premium weight that is noticeable. It holds up well during handling and conveys a sense of quality that lighter papers simply can't match. Reliable Performance I've used this paper in both laser and inkjet printers, and it has performed flawlessly in both. The 99.99% jam-free guarantee holds true; I have not experienced any jams or issues during printing, even with high-volume tasks. Eco-Friendly Choice Made in the USA and FSC certified, this paper is produced from responsibly managed forests, aligning with environmentally conscious practices. Conclusion For anyone seeking a high-quality paper that enhances the presentation of their work, the Hammermill Premium Color 32 lb Copy Paper is an excellent choice. Its brightness, smoothness, and durability make it ideal for presentations, proposals, and marketing materials. I highly recommend it for both professional and personal use.

My go-to paper for my Junk Journaling printing
Size: 1 Ream | 500 Sheets, Style: Letter (8.5x11)
This is my go-to paper for printing out my junk journal printables. Unfortunately, my HP Smart Tank 7600r doesn't handle cardstark gracefully but this paper is a very good substitute. The ink pops nicely giving the amazing images a quality ground they deserve.

Not what I was looking for but still a good purchase

In my quest to find a cheaper alternative to the HP Premium 32 paper (to use as nib calligraphy paper), I bought this ream of paper to try. The texture is smooth and the weight and GSM match the HP32 ream, despite it being premium color copy paper. It holds most fountain pen inks well, with some minor exceptions (see pic for details). This paper sucked up the Pilot Iroshizuku Kon-Peki ink like water (it's a watery ink, but still) which caused some feathering and "boldness" despite using a fine nib and the lightest pressure. The colors of the fountain pen inks do pop out with the brightness of the paper, which I do like. The same can be said about the Nikko G nib and sumi ink. I have not tried walnut ink yet, but I'll report back. This paper is good quality, but it's pretty much the same as the Hammermill Premium Laser Printer paper (which costs $5 less than this one). The Hammermill Premium Color copy paper has similar specs to the HP32, with similar price point as well, however, it performs like its sister brand (Hammermill Laser Print). Don't get me wrong, the quality of fantastic, especially if you want your reports and presentations pop. It just doesn't provide what I'm looking for when it comes to nib calligraphy, e.g. smooth lines and no feathering. Did I return it? No, because it performs well with most fountain pen inks and compared to the specialty paper designed for fountain inks, this ream and the laser one, work just as well and better for my wallet.
