Growing up to about 4' tall and 5' wide, this glossy-leaved Cuphea makes a showy addition to sunny borders, pollinator gardens, low-water landscapes, large containers, and even challenging parking strip plantings. Hummingbirds absolutely adore the nectar-rich flowers, and the plant brings a lush, cheerful look with surprisingly little maintenance.

Plant Cuphea micropetala in full sun to part shade with well-drained soil. It is drought tolerant, clay tolerant, salt tolerant, and wonderfully easy once established.
