Dieffenbachia seguine 'Reeva'

Several basal shoots give Dieffenbachia 'Reeva' its compact, freely branching shape. Large obovate leaves carry light yellow-green central blotching, building a full crown with a compact upright habit.

The leaves are broad, smooth, slightly glossy, and lightly leathery. As the shoots branch and mature, 'Reeva' develops a filled-out outline in a medium indoor planter.

Basal branching and broad leaves

  • Compact upright habit with numerous main shoots.
  • Large obovate leaves with irregular yellow-green central markings.
  • Slightly coriaceous foliage with a smooth surface.
  • Dense crown created by basal branching.
  • Node-bearing stem cuttings can root after pruning mature growth.

Reeva compact branching habit

Dieffenbachia 'Reeva' develops compact branching growth, a full crown and large obovate leaves with light yellow-green central markings.

In pots, the branching habit shapes the whole plant. Regular rotation and clean removal of ageing inner leaves keep the crown even and open. An open root mix keeps moisture moving around the roots.

Dieffenbachia 'Reeva' care

  • Position: Bright to medium indirect light promotes shorter internodes and even shoot spacing; rotate the pot so the crown fills evenly.
  • Moisture: During warm growth, rewater once the top few centimetres of substrate feel lightly dry.
  • Root mix: Use a loose blend with organic moisture retention plus bark, perlite, or mineral particles for air flow.
  • Warmth: Keep at 18–27 °C. At this range, roots take up water more steadily and new shoots expand more evenly.
  • Humidity: Moderate ambient humidity reduces sticking and dry edges as new leaves expand inside the dense branching crown.
  • Pot size: Choose a drainage pot a little larger than the root ball, with enough width for the branching base.
  • Nutrition: Give a reduced-strength feed every 4–6 weeks while shoots are actively expanding.
  • Grooming: Remove ageing inner leaves at the petiole base and root node-bearing cuttings in warm, evenly moist conditions.

Reeva crown balance checks

  • Crowded inner leaves: Ageing foliage can trap moisture around petiole bases; remove spent leaves and inspect the crown.
  • One-sided growth: Uneven light usually drives the shape; rotate the pot and move it closer to filtered light.
  • Small new leaves: Check for depleted substrate, tight roots, cool conditions, or a long gap since feeding.
  • Several yellow leaves together: Inspect the root ball for compaction or saturated sections.
  • Brown leaf tips: Review watering intervals, fertiliser dose, dry heat and salts collecting in the mix.

Reeva pruning safety

Cut Dieffenbachia tissue contains irritating sap that can affect skin, eyes, mouth and throat. For pruning, use gloves and clean blades, then avoid touching the face until hands are rinsed.

Reeva aroid family and growth

Dieffenbachia belongs to Araceae, and 'Reeva' is a compact branching dumb cane with broad yellow-green patterned leaves.

Dieffenbachia 'Reeva' forms branching shoots with glossy leaves and yellow-green central patterning in a medium planter.

My dog loves them
Color: Real Bacon&Beef, Color: Real Bacon&Beef
Got yesterday, and my dog already did some damage to them; however it isn't enough damage to make the toys unsafe and unusable. So far they have lasted longer than any of her other toys (a full 24 hours already). So when the time comes that she needs some new toys, we are definitely going to be purchasing these again, she loves them.

These are adorable
Color: Coffe Wood, Color: Coffe Wood
This little frozen treat kit is absolutely adorable. I found 3 different colors for my 3 dogs, so I can tell who got theirs stolen. First, the kit itself is a 5 star. The little skull, the brain mold, absolutely adorable. Second, as with a lot of other reviews, what is up with the rope? I had hoped there was a cover for that part of the skull heads when I bought them, then I double checked the reviews and could have had a V8. 🤦🏼‍♀️ the good news is that once you get the rope off you can replace it with something more washable, if you choose. Rope is a 2 to 3 star. Third, my dogs don't like these ones as much, that's why the 3 stars. They've tried out 3 different kinds, with a 4th one coming this week. This was their 3rd favorite. They like the ability to carry it by the rope. Getting to the treat through the hole in the bottom isn't "hard", but the skull is tilted on the side, which is exactly what you want to keep your dog entertained, but two of my dogs didn't want to deal with it unless I held it for them. 😒 Dramatic. Fourth, and finally, I am keeping them. I will probably not put frozen treats in them again, and use it for dry treats or something. So, 3 to 4 stars since I probably won't be able to use the mold for these unless the dogs get used to them. These little skills have more of a rubber texture to them, making them not really hard plastic, and seemingly more durable. The top, so far, is easy to take off, if you don't have wet hands. There's little divets in the top to help you screw and unscrew thw top. Be careful not to screw it on too tight or too loose. I would take it away from my dogs as soon as I notice they are done with their treats, as I would with dirty dishes. It isn't a toy-toy, more like a treat dispenser.

Ruff and rugged
Color: Real Bacon&Beef
Ruff and rugged, my dogs chew through everything we get them, not this so far, holding up well against the aggressive chewers.

Has some flaws but overall not bad
Color: Coffe Wood
I have a 13 pound Jack Russell mix who is an aggressive chewer and gets bored while I am working. I find that a frozen treat situation keeps him busy for 30-45 minutes in his kennel so I can get some quiet time. I've been stuffing the Kong and freezing it, but since I only have one, I have to remember to do it. I liked the option of keeping a bunch of frozen treats to refill the toy at will. I've been eyeballing the Pupsicle brand, but they are really expensive. So for around $10, I figured this was worth a try. Pros: So far seems tough. I unscrew it after he finishes the frozen treat so he can lick out the remains, then I take it away from him. I'm sure if I let him he would eventually chew it to shreds. The design is cute. Although you can't see the fact that the treats are brain shaped once it is in there, it does give me a kick to put a little brain in the skull. So far no issues with screwing the top of the skull on or taking it off The inner cavity is quite big. I filled the molds about 3/4 full and there is still a lot of room in the skull. If you have a bigger dog you can fill the molds to the top (just don't over-fill or it won't fit inside) If you make a big batch of treat filling, you can freeze the rest in those silicone muffin molds, they fit perfectly. Just don't over-fill. With a 3/4 full mold, made with pumpkin, peanut butter, oats, and a little water, it takes my dog about 45 minutes to get all of the treat out. Cons: It's huge and heavy. It's bigger than my dog's skull. But, since he is just trying to eat the brains, it's not like it needs to be lightweight. The rope is a bad idea. First, it gets gross. Second, my dog has chewed halfway through it already. This seems like a hazard for both choking and bacterial contamination. The biggest hole is big enough that my dog's bottom jaw gets a little stuck in there. So far he's always able to get it out, but it is a point against the toy. Overall, its not bad. Not perfect, but serves the function. I'd like to see a slightly smaller, slightly lighter version for dogs under 20 pounds, and lose the rope. If you do buy this, make sure to take it away from your dog once they have cleaned out the treat.
