Also known as the Dragon Tree, this lovely and easy-care species is a great structural addition to any plant collection. 

Plant Care 

Light: Bright indirect light, but will tolerate lower light levels. 

Watering: These plants don't require much water and are happiest with slightly moist soil. About every two weeks is a good bet and it will tolerate erratic watering. 

Temperature: 15-24°C is the ideal range for these. 

Potting: A well-draining mix is great for these. Our A Sandy Loam is a perfect fit. 

Hot tips:  Due to its laid-back nature, this low-maintenance plant is an excellent choice if you are a traveller or forgetful waterer.

Favorite fetch
We have a 70 lb Aussie and a 13 lb Havanese who compete with each other to fetch toys. This hedgehog is their favorite, largely due to the loud assertive squeak. Our big dog is a chewer and has a history of getting to any squeaker in a toy, once nearly choking when successfully removing one from a smaller toy. She still tries to chew on this toy, going straight for the nose but has not yet gotten to the squeaker which is large enough that I don't believe would be a choking hazard if she did get to it. No soft toy is indestructible, but compared to other plush toys, this is more durable. Once the nose has been chewed off, I have simply hand stitched the hole closed and from then on she's no longer interested in chewing through it. Have run through the wash and comes out fine. When one eventually wears out I order a replacement and the 2 puppies compete once again over ownership.
