CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Bright but diffused light. To maintain the delicate, light variegation of the Dieffenbachia, it needs a moderately high amount of light. It can also adapt to shadier spots, but then the leaves will lose their contrast and become darker green. Strictly protect it from direct, scorching midday sun rays, which will instantly burn its large leaves.

• 💧 Watering: Moderate and thoughtful. Allow the top layer of soil (about 3-5 cm deep) to dry out completely between waterings. It absolutely cannot tolerate root soaking in standing water in the saucer, which quickly causes stem and root rot as well as yellowing of the lower leaves. If the plant is thirsty, the leaves will lose some firmness and droop slightly.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: Thrives at standard room temperature. As a true tropical forest dweller, it will appreciate increased air humidity but can also adapt well to normal, drier indoor air. Strictly protect it from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes!

• 🐾 Pets: Absolutely not pet-friendly – VERY TOXIC! This is one of the most dangerous houseplants for pets and small children. Its sap contains calcium oxalate crystals, which cause extremely severe swelling of the mouth, throat, and tongue (which can block airways), drooling, vomiting, and pain if chewed. Keep it completely out of reach!

If the plant becomes too tall, leggy, and loses its lushness, do not hesitate to prune it boldly! The cut tip can be easily rooted in water, and the old stem will sprout new shoots from the base. When repotting, use airy and loose houseplant soil with good drainage.
